When to introduce liquid Kelp to your grow?

Greetings and Salutations :eyesmoke:,

Wondering when the best time to introduce liquid kelp into my grow - veg or flower?

I'm about 3 weeks into veg in soil medium (FFOF) and haven't used any at this point. Just topped my plants yesterday and going to give them about 2 more weeks to recover and will flip the switch to begin flower.

No problems just wondering the advantages (or disadvantages?)

I've read that you can use it as a foliar and it works better? Would this be during veg or would you literally spray this stuff on buds during flower? Sounds like a bad idea to me but I'm also pretty ignorant on the subject. Better off just mixing with water and feeing?

Gracias!

Don't spray anything on the buds.

And you can use kelp anytime.

Thx.. Going to make a major difference?
Every water or nute feeds only?
It's not gonna do anything magical, but it's good stuff. You can use it all the time or just at feeding, but don't overdo it.

I top dress with kelp meal, but have used the bottled stuff too. There's also kelp in the Neptune's Harvest Fish and Seaweed I use sometimes.

I use from veg all the way to harvest.
Niice. How often are you feeding and what medium?

What swayed you to use it on a regular basis?

I'm using FFOF and looks like it has some kelp in it already so will probably begin to add in about 2 weeks once the plants use up what's already in there.

I use promix amended with roots organic terp teas grow and bloom. I use it because my dry amendments aren’t that strong in K. My kelp feed has 17 K, strong stuff. During veg I use an extremely small amount, mainly because I want my plants to get use to eating it early. I’m not sure I would use anything other than water and molasses with FFOF. But that’s me.

Much appreciated input!

Really with fox farms?? Even after a couple weeks of water only once the plant has consumed much of the nutrients that are in there??

Bloom Khaos liquid for flowering is the stuff I've used, seaweed extract. The flakes and various powders are great for teas and side dressing.
See what the labeling says for your bottle for foliar spraying. Avoid mixing with other products is what mine says.

Spray it on every day during stretch at 50-70% recommended strength. See how the plant reacts before going higher, new leaves will get thinner, bit lighter color, internodes will shorten is normal.

I think they recommend every 3rd day for Bloom Khaos. I find that a bit much solution and too long for indoor plants.
Powerful stuff, doesn't take much to get a reaction in the plant.

might have to give that khaos stuff a try. Never really tried anything else outside of kelp and molasses. Thanks for the tip.

From what I understand, FFOF has everything u need from beginning to end. Adding additional nutrients may cause burning from over fertilization. I hear about it all the time, people adding either bloom or tiger and end up burning their girls.

I'm guilty myself lol.

I always thought that the plant would eventually consume the nutes over time and it was good to add once that occured.

Tomato, tomahto lol
