If I hook an 8 inch inline fan with ducting up to me hps light how well will it control the heat that the light is putting out in my tent? I'm already at 76 degrees with my hlg light on but I have not been using my hps because it brings the temp to 92. What can I do to urn on the hps while keeping the temp 80 or below?

Assuming you have a air cooled hood. (Glass cover) you’re going to need proper ducting to get heat down. You gotta make sure everything is sealed off perfect and you want to extract the heat instead of blowing air over the bulb. Do it like this. Imagine you’re looking at your tent ceiling from left to right.

Carbon filter to small amount duct work to light and then duct work to fan pulling that air out of the tent.

Me personally would pass outside air through the hood (inline) and separate intake and exhaust for the tent, more control.

Indoor is a pain when it comes to battling the heat from the bulbs. And running ac which the plants love.. don't get me started about the electrical bill.

Smartest solution is to go through the ceiling of the house and pull air from outside. Especially during 12/12 at night. Have one side of the duct pulling outside cold air in and expelling on the other side going through the ceiling back outside. With this method and best inline fans you can get away with not having an air conditioner even though I would still recommend one.
