The man who is poised to take the November election calling for a "civilian national security" force.

Wow...What's he mean? He wants to create a paramilitary organization comprised of civilians whose responsibility is to keep an eye out for seditious/treasonous activities and report them? 1934 Germany anyone? This is too Orwellian for my taste.

No, no, no. He would hate Europe. Given his mistrust of democratic institutions and his craving for "strong leadership", I think Dave would be much more comfortable somewhere like Turkmenistan.

It's too bad the Democrats did not vet their candidate for the voters as well as they did Sarah Palin. The Republicans were too terrified of being labeled racists to do it.

It's all coming together. Funny how he selectively removes from his press plane members of the press who have the gaul to dissent, but the rest of the press goes along blithely.

It ironic that Democratic self-righteousness completely ignores the lessons of history. Obama is slowly revealing himself to be a fascist of the highest order.

Affirmative. The man votes to reauthorize Patriot, he votes in favor of FISA. Couple that with this and it's a potentially scary scenario.

What role would a civilian security force have other than to spy and report on behavior/acts of their neighbors on behalf of the US government?

But at least he'll decriminalize marijuana...And that's what important, yeah? :lol:

I'm not so sure. He runs hot and cold on decriminalization. The true believers refuse to accept it, but he raised his hand in opposition to decriminalization in a national debate in 2007.

There are plenty of Democrats who would never go along. The Police Unions. The trial lawyers. The sweet little old lady who's against it because it has 'always' been illegal.

Then there are the corporations against decriminalization who lobby both parties.

That's the spirit, Joe!

It reminds me of the time when I was a supervisor/manager of a large sales crew. One of those "sissy libs" made an appointment with me to "discuss a very important issue." Well, the issue turned out to be, that he and the governmental agency he represented, wanted me to hire convicts out on parole to "give them another chance at life's lottery." When I explained to him that because my salespeople entered our customer's homes and collected money, I wouldn't feel comfortable hiring his felons, he got really pissed off and called me a greedy, uncompassionate businessman. He made an interesting squeal when his skinny ass-cheeks hit the pavement out in front of the office. :lol:
