A hundred years of progress washed away in a week.

What "facts" are we supposed to consider?

How about the one where you never ever EVER restrict an airway. EVER!

Are we really going do this? Really?
The man is clearly saying he cant breathe. I dont know about you but I cant speak clearly when I cant breathe. Facts such as the mans medical condition and level of intoxication would be helpful. Also a full video of what happened would be really nice.

I guess you're just going to be another one on this forum I can say I was wrong about.

Kinda sucks when you think someones better than that but glad you're showing your true colors nonetheless.
Go you.
So Rob joking about it being a corona death is ok but I'm a monster. m'Kay.

Look, I'm a licensed medic and have been for many years. If you really believe that gasping out a couple of words is proof he wasn't suffocating then there's nothing more I can say to you.

I think he became unresponsive and the cop continued to pressure his neck. I'm not usually one to jump to conclusions, but I'm thinking the cop is a major league asshole, at a minimum, and contributed to the death, if he didn't outright cause it.

The man was subdued and to continue to pressure his neck was sadistic and an unnecessary assault. Wonder how many times shit like this happens and there isn't a camera there to document it ?

Police kill black people, brown people, yellow people, green people, blue people, and yes, even white people. Police are humans. Shit happens. This officer has lost his career and likely his freedom because of what he did at work. What else do you want? Should police just stop policing minorities? What is the solution here?
Oh that poor cop. He lost his career? What a shame. I will cry bitter tears of rage for him.

You're actually raising a good point, before the cop is determined to be guilty, all the facts should be considered. I have an admitted bias though, I don't like cops and think that one was purposefully trying to harm the victim.

Cool. You ever apprehended someone and had them freak out and attack you? You really KNOW how you would react in that situation? Why was there no race war after this one? These little fuckers got off with PROBATION?

Are we not better than this?
People are angry, and rightly so. We have been told every time this happens to remain calm and dont react foolishly. Then the powers that be look the other way while the cops responsible walk away. Well those days are over. You can bet this will happen every time from now on. Get on the right side of history. We will not stand for this from our police anymore. So, no, we will not be "better than this" until we stop pretending like citizens being murdered by the police is normal.

Yes. Yes I am. Coroner report states cause of death was not asphyxiation or strangulation.

We do not have all the facts.
Next you're going to tell us that blue lives matter I suppose.

The slow motion murder without mercy of a man begging for his life in public view caught on camera from multiple angles in front of a crowd of imploring witness is not enough for you? Tell ya what, if your not a racist who is rationalising here, I'll post a legal video for you, expert opinion from someone who can make the case for murder against all the cops, not just the one who murdered him in cold blood with malice and forethought.

Do you want to see the disgusting video so you can savor it? A jury will see it, maybe they don't show it much out of respect for him as a human being who was treated worse than an animal, by those sworn to serve and protect him.

I've gone toe to toe with rogue cops fucking with my patients and interfering with my job more times than I can count. I've had one asshole attempt to remove a fucking rebreather to question a pt we were prepping for transpo.
The country needs an entire systematic redo of the whole goddamn hiring and training process for LEOs
Fuck rogue cops. Every fucking last one.

I dont like cops either. Their job inherently makes them unlikable. I honestly do not believe the officers intent was murder. If it was, he belongs at the end of a rope. If his intent was to "teach him a lesson" and "rough him up a bit", he deserves 20-30 years depending on how many times a day he gets raped.

I like your sentiment. Except they've never been "our police" or public servants, that's all a purposeful lie.

If you can't choose other kinds of security and you're forced to pay cops, even if you don't want any or all of their so called "services", it is impossible for them to be your servant.

Nope, he is a cold blooded murder and so are the other cops, it's representative of a systemic problem of racism and there is a ton of data to back this up, this is old news.

The solution is to NOT choke him to death. He’s supposed to be a trained professional

I felt the same way when I saw the post. I was like damn he’s not really serious.

Here is a guy who will most likely be in the DOJ next year, if joe wins, so his thoughts on this subject of reform are relevant.
