can't find 280-315nm lights

as the title says i can't find any lights that produce this light other then some flashlights, does anybody know where i can source some lights on this spectrum or some diodes to build the lights myself(if i go this route i have a bit of research to do)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Yup. Or a simple search on 3bay has a plethora. I'm really surprised you're having trouble finding them.
i know nothing of building lights, as i said i need to research this route if thats my only option. i'm sorry but if thats my only option i am willing to learn

No you're fine brother! If you need pre-built, those cutter strips are your best option. They can customize however you need. Whether on individual star heatsinks or spreading them onto a 4' strip rather than the 1' one there advertised on.
 
i don't like the 280nm as i think that kills cells but im really confused with this post i read the other day and if the other spectrum does something that makes that spectrum worth using
After a bit of reading.

Found a nice article about uvb leds.

280nm UVB induces secretion of HMGB1 and apoptosis (death of the cells)

310nm UV-B induces the secretion of high-mobility group box-1 (HMGB1) enriching phytochemicals in plants. without inducing apoptosis.

In the case of agricultural applications, recently, it was discovered that the phytochemicals in fruit and vegetables can be enriched by using narrowband-310 nm UV-B light sources, even with a modest output power of around 20 mW.

Phytochemicals from plants can greatly reduce the risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

293nm 2.4 times more efficient than sunlight for producing vitamin D3 in the human body.

Both 310 nm-and 295 nm-emission UV-B LED devices are very useful for both medical and agricultural applications.

On average
295nm max 1.8mW

310nm max 2.7mW
from what i gather here i want 295/310
 
or it could mean death of cells as the sun burn and what causes the resin (sunscreen) to be produced

You will never get a decent 295 diode.
That's why most use the more efficient ones at a slightly lower frequency.

But according to that report you need a smaller percentage of 295nm compared to 310nm.
 
Technically you could get a 286nm and burn the shit out of it till the frequency went up nearer the 293nm barrier you desire.

Cutters strips concentrate uv to one spot instead of spreading it out, this means you would have to hang your light reay high for it to benefit your whole cannopy and not only burn the leaves right under neath. I am not sure if those uv strips are meant for plants or disinfect/cure chemicals.

Have a look at nachooos posting history, he successfully applies uvb to his plants and uses top of the line diodes. You should have some uva along with the b and do it for short time every daay.

Agreed. They need to be spaced across a 4' strip or all 12 on their own, individual 20mm PCB Star.

i definitely read about the 5 minute bursts and plan on doing alot of research before going this route. I am currently looking into the health risks assosiated with the light, i plan on having a switch rigged outside the areas to turn of the uva/uvb/uv-b as so i don't expose myself to the light

Looks like 420nm 400nm 385nm 365nm most probably Semiled?
Plenty of nice diodes you can't see. 280nm 310/320nm Nichia or Seoul?
That's the problem with UVB it ain't all lovely violets like most newer strips being sold with one single violet range in UVA only.
