Roots penetrating fabric pot

Hey everyone!
Has anyone had their roots penetrate the fabric pot? The tips are showing outside the pot and I’m wondering how bad this is?

many advice or input is appreciated.

How high is your humidity? It can happen if the humidity is really high.

Looks like they are coming through the seams, it shouldn't harm the plant. I'd be more concerned about the bag breaking if you pick them up and move them around. What brand of bag is it?

I’ve been seeing a lot of this lately. I only buy the name brand smart pots, not the knock offs. Maybe that’s why I’ve never seen it. I’m not saying you bought cheap pots, I’ve just never seen it with the name brand.

For coco dtw...
I prefer thinner fabrics. More air pruned roots, less salt buildup in/on fabric. I toss them after 1 grow.

Name brand/thicker fabrics are easier to reuse.

I have it happen all the time regardless of brand of fabric pots. The thicker material, thinner material, soft felt like material, and the more rigid material. I always just buy the cheapest fabric pots they have on Amazon. I haven't noticed any difference in growth regardless of what brand I use. Healthy growing roots on healthy plants will poke through any fabric pot. If they can't get through then what's the point of using a fabric pot? They're supposed to get air pruned.

There's a reason they're out of stock. No way I'd ever pay $8 for a Smart Pot. The Vivosun are up to $26 for a 5 pack of 5 gallon and the 3 gallon are $25 a 5 pack.

Wow. They're out of almost all their pots. Crazy. Same with a lot of lights. HLG, and ChilLed have barely anything now. Lots of new people are starting to grow since this COVID shit. It's crazy. I'm glad I got my shit before this crap happened.

They are actually SUPPOSED to penetrate the pot but only if they are healthy enough. healthy roots are white and thick and have no problem going through the pot.
The purpose of these fabric pot is to AIR PRUNE the tip of the roots, so that doesn't start circling around but instead it branches out into multiple roots inside the pot.
To allow this, and get the maximum benefit from these pots, there should be a space of air under the pot, you can obtain this by elevating or setting a drain screen or mesh under the pots. if you use a saucer, just put a metal grid on top and get the pot on it to have perfect drainage
The tips of the roots turn brown once they get outside the pot and dry but the new growth starts inside

Yeah it's crazy. Fortunately I've got tons of pots. But I went to three stores the other day and all were sold out of slug bait which is what I really need. Must be a ton of new gardeners waking up to find their vegetable sprouts in their new raised beds eaten away.

Same here. I went a way overboard on buying grow shit so I'm good to go for awhile. The ISO is what's been tougher for me to get. I was getting the 99% on sale for $1 a pint and would stock up, but now it's hard to find at all.
