A good time to own firearms.

A couple of the things I heard them trying to change is

1. 5 minutes prior to any no-knock warrant being executed all police must turn on their body cams and leave them on, no more turning cams off would be a accountability check.

2. Having non-police citizen led first encounters instead of police who could be on standby or called in if things are escalated.

3. Being able to do background checks on police officers when there are encounters. So patterns of abuse are found quickly and then removed.

4. All officers being held in account for keeping their partners/other officers if they don't actively stop abuse by them.

I am sure there are several others, but those changes are huge if they get enacted because of peaceful protesting the murdering of citizens by the police.

Good for you, should maybe put on 'OANN' and 'the Hill' on that list too. Basically anything that doesn't have any accountability if they lie to you.

Why would the Democrats bring the military when they won't even do it when they are being bullied into doing that when gun toting nazis push their way into the Michigan capital building? Protesting won't be infringed outside of a few idiots in charge like Barr and Trump, who admittedly can do a lot of damage. But as bad as this is made out to look, this too shall pass.

Everyone has been pushed to be nervous and rightly so, but panicked and leaderless exaggerates everything, that way people are forced to look for hope in places that it should not be (like snake oil cures, and federal troops). Luckily we have a free press and they are covering everything here.
@hanimmal these are some good ideas to further expand (we still need to keep abuses in mind)

1. 5 minutes prior to any no-knock warrant being executed all police must turn on their body cams and leave them on, no more turning cams off would be a accountability check. This needs to be handled remotely by pre-programmed software.

2. Having non-police citizen led first encounters instead of police who could be on standby or called in if things are escalated. Problem in the middle of the night Domestics, citizens aren't going to want to get out of bed; high incidence of corruption likely with 'captains'. Captains are everywhere in Florida and we call them 'Condo Commandos'; they drive around in golf carts and point out shrub, wind chime or door decor infractions..when you really need them, they're in bed because they only 'patrol' bankers hours.

3. Being able to do background checks on police officers when there are encounters. So patterns of abuse are found quickly and then removed.
Then they shouldn't even be on the force if you have to do this.

4. All officers being held in account for keeping their partners/other officers if they don't actively stop abuse by them.
Good and bad..slippery slope, gang mentality.

I think that police should just always have them on their person when they are out as police officers, and they submit them at the end of their shifts. There is no reason for police to have to write reports anymore, it should be all programmed like you are saying, and reviewable with text software.

Yeah I didn't think it meant weekend warrior types. More social workers first defuse situations, and if they can't, then police are involved second.

Exactly, police have been able to operate in the dark long enough.

Yeah, but with combo bodycams/civilian oversight and being 2nd responders would hopefully force their hands.

A potential issue I see with this is cops actually following the new rules. They're on video right now and don't even give a shit. Hopefully it can stop the tyranny and civil rights abuses. What if the "get mud" or their camera "malfunctions" or they put tape over the lense and say "it wasn't working", and you can't prove that they made it inoperable? If they can be personally liable like citizens can in civil court, they would slowly begin to realize that they don't have any power greater than that of citizens in effecting arrest, and could be bankrupt and homeless(prison is a great home for many of them) if they don't strictly follow the bill of rights and new restrictions on government abuse.

True, unless you maybe rewind to the point that that officers body cam 'glitches' and cross reference it with their cruiser/partners camera.

Nothing will ever be 100% when you put people 'in charge'. But it would be a big step in the right direction that is not just placating people with a couple firings or scalps or if they place these police in prison.

Maybe Trump can take a detour on a Disney cruise with Bill Gates and Joe Biden to the island and Hillary can make some mixers while they all sniff Chelsea's hair.

Just a fake doorway on the parking garage at the cop station so dumb cops will drive into it and kill them selves

I seen it work on looney tools. The IQ requirement to become a cop makes me think you got a solid plan. Paint racing stripes around it though
