Flush or not to flush, that is the question

Hi guys, just read an article ( think it was in the growers times ) which puts up a good argument about not flushing, does anyone on here not flush and if so do you notice any difference in taste and the way it smokes

Maybe it's just me being new to growing, but I have never heard or read about watering with molasses ?

I flush, (sometimes twice :) ). I have been doing dwc for a long time and I have found that if I flush my smoke pops and cracks a little. I am doing a soil grow now and I am looking for a good article on how long to flush with soil grows. I started 6 days ago. I know not to do it to long but I want more info.

there is actual science behind flushing. but theres a whole lot of misinformation too. if you ask for anecdotes on taste and thc you're gonna get mostly the latter. to put it simply: you can flush nutrients from the root zone but not from buds.

here is a good video on it he talks about it starting around 4 minutes

I have but after looking over these articles it appears that I need to rethink what is really happening, when I get the crackle and pop. I think from the sound of everything I am reading and the first video above the round table that allowing the conversion process to complete itself is just as important as the flushing, and the times that I have had the snap and pop and harsh tasting have been when I rushed the finish and the cure. So I will continue to flush and the 10 day timeline seems correct but bearing in mind what is really going on and taking the correct 2+ weeks to cure as well.

Flushing is both 100% necessary and 100% unnecessary. Situation, plant, grower dependent.

there’s a million arguments on here you can find and read through. Flushing also has different meanings to different people.

So in an organic grow where the plant is not over fed you would unnecessarily flush and break up all the goodness the plant is accustomed to?
I think If your growing completely organic no need to flush but if your using any kind of synthetic fertiliser then yeah flush 100%
doesn't really matter anyways like you said before every grow is different and comes down to the person individually and the techniques used but thats just my take on it anyways.
