Thanks my man
So heres a post in my thread about how I run/mix my top off.
I have a big 1400gph pump in it that I use for transfer and mixing. I run it for 15 mins every 4 hours I think it is, to keep it mixed up well.
You could certainly use a smaller pump and run it more often, but thats just what I had on hand to use for it. Just make sure you arent heating the barrel up above ambient temps.

Is that wattage turned down any?
Not that I can tell. It’s set at f100 which from the manual shows full but on the p side which p is for power it shows 39-40 but it is a 40 watt so if that is referring to the power supply watts it’s full. I figured this was double what I needed and was just going to run this pump at 1/2 power don’t believe that’s the case

You may need a bigger pump, but I'd wait for one of the hydro experts to ring in. @Airwalker16

9 3/4” holes would need a pretty big pump (or 3, however you want to see it). I have 8 5/16” holes with that 1800 mag drive and it’s not over doing it.
#1 reason people using pumps should use waterfalls. You get used to how loud air pumps really are, once they're gone, it's alarming.
I have 3 identical air pumps and 2 are too loud to use and one is super quiet. I haven’t yet but am going to take one apart and see why it’s loud. I don’t use anyways but curious.

I've done that so many times with so many air pumps lol. It starts to bug you so much as to why it's so much louder.

Ok I won’t bother lol, will use on a future outdoor pond and then it’s the neighbors problem.. but really, like way louder, sounds like you know what I’m talking bout.

No you should absolutely do it. You'll definitely learn something and possibly find the reason it's being that way.
