If you are in Canada, fusion breath has a 2” carbon bed filter rated 520 cfm, best bang for buck I found. $129cad shipped + tax 6x24”. Can go shorter for $99 bucks I believe but drop in cfm is sharp.

The bigger the filter the slower the air is moving through it so the contact time of air to carbon is increased making it more effective and the filter will last longer.
Example a 6" filter rated slightly higher than a 6" fan might last you 18-24 month while an 8" filter on the same fan could last you 3+ years.

I have some 8" filters that are 5 year old and still working great. When I feel they are past their best I demote them to the veg tent.

What brand do you use and what size is your setup? I heard you mention what's rated before what exactly do you mean by a 6in filter rated slightly higher than a 6 inch fan?

Fans come in various flavours, or powers, so one 6" may be say 350cfm and another 6" might be 500cfm.
Lots of filters also have higher or lower airflow versions of the same spigot diameter , so you always have to make sure the filters cfm rating is higher (or equal to) the fan because if the fan is moving more air than the filter is rated for (in cfm) the filter wont perform properly because the contact time of dirty air to the carbon is not long enough.

I use 8" rhino pro filters in all my tents, mainly because I already had them from my old bigger set up and when I moved the space meant I had to switch to various smaller tents, 1x1m , 3x3ft and a 2x4ft and 2x2 clone tent.

Because I have a single 6" fan extracting from the 2x4 and 3x3 I have to use the same size filters in each so the airflow is equally divided due to the resistance been the same in each filter.

8" is overkill for all my tents but it works and will last many years, when I could use 4" filters but they would not last as long.

Rhino pro are most popular on the European market. There are many other quality brands available.

Not to mention the fact that say a 6'' ac infinity filter costs 65$ amazon, a 8'' run 75-80$(when they are in stock). So you pay an extra 10-15 bucks and get twice as much filter. And the bigger the filter, the better the air flow.

My old set up wasn't big, just a 4x8 flower tent, 8" fan on speed controller and 8" filter did the job fine and only needed to run full speed in heat waves. Filter still performed .
If I were to run that same set up again I would buy the 10" filter literally just so I wouldn't have to change filter for a long time since I hate messing with insulated ducting and those jubilee clips.
Hope that answers your question.

So I have to find a filter that is rated with the cfm's the fan has on it or more..... 11×11×8 ÷ 1.5(968 = 645 cfm +129 ( 20% more the static of the filter brings down cfm a little) 774 cfm's when I called the company canfilter these are the calculations I came up with so I'm wondering what size filter I will and what do you think about AirROS by sage ? I've heard of this component I want to say is called ions any change the molecular structure of the molecules in the oxygen to eliminate odor but that's as close that I heard of something like that what do you think
