How to make s CO2 bag?

For sure it will create CO2.
But you don't know how much, You can't control it.
It also creates CO2 at night. Useless (no harmfull as some think)

cool beans. I am a wizard with Arduinos if it was a problem of too much that would be a good thing I could Easily rig an enclosure with a small fan to keep room co2 at the perfect level, including closing it off at night. Even if it took 8 bags to get enough co2 for the room it’s still be cheaper and less hassle in my case than a bottle. That’s why people ask questions because not everyone’s situation is the same and not everyone needs to grow the same way as everyone else and *gasp* sometimes things make sense for some people that don’t for others.

If the bags don’t produce enough well that’s what I’d like to know. The new scd40 co2 sensors come out end of this year and Im waiting for that so I can start monitoring my co2 levels from my phone as I don’t have co2 monitoring at all right now. That’ll be the time I can contribute to this topic and do some testing. Then we should be able to find out for sure instead of throwing shit saying they don’t work without data.

people can say whatever they want but making a mycelium bag is so cheap, way cheaper than a bottle setup. Maybe it’s too hard for some people or too much work or just talking about bags incites rage that they feel the need to take out on others but they sell for a reason = bottle systems aren’t for everyone. It’s just one of the reasons cannabis forums are so toxic people gotta be suck dicks about things they don’t have the capacity to properly understand or work with. I can garuntee after seeing how people react if I find a way to make this work I won’t be sharing it on this forum I’ll make a product that proves it’s worth and sell it instead.

I think people are viewing this from different perspectives. Diy biological breakdown/production of co2 leaves room for doubt about co2 levels and efficacy. Could be an entry level option for small scale, but the user would be still be stuck with guessing at how much is actually produced. Now a co2 generator using household chems, a bubble regulator and a monitor/controller could be a serious contender.

From a commercial scale perspective it would be pointless. Bottle, regulator and controller/monitor.

Bag or bucket AND Arduino.
Different story.
But I guess less then 0.01% of the growers have this knowledge.

So for most growers: Bags are useless.
For sure they produce CO2. That's not the question. It is how they work that doesn't make sense.

The fact that they sell, doesn't mean a thing.
People also bought CO2 tablets for in your water: snake oil.

Lot of welders in less developed countries create their own acetylene. Yes! I know we are talking about co2. But the point is that it is likely an interested grower could create and store their own co2 for fraction of cost of commercial compressed gas, or gimmicky mycelleum bags. All it requires is an inquiring mind. On demand production of co2 may be diy doable.

Yea it does I meant the reason they sell is it’s easier than a co2 bottle system I didn’t mean that it works - once I have a co2 monitor I wil get one of these damn exhale bags and measure it. My best guess is that it produces higher levels of co2 Only near the bag, but that’s just a guess.

My particular issue is that 1. I’m broke as fuck
2. My back is seriously fucked I had surgery a year ago I could barely carry a 20lb co2 tank and smaller tanks would be so expensive to keep refilling.
If I could get a big ass co2 tank and have someone come by and swap them that would be dope, but.. I don’t have many options at the moment.

All of this is Not relevant though until I get a co2 meter and start checking my Environment - I run a sealed room with AC and currently cycle the air for 30 minutes every two hours. I have no idea how much co2 my room has right now

On demand co2 generation is essentially the general aim of this post - I’m sure there’s a cheap easy way that doesn’t require a burner.

Word it seems like co2 is a basic enough element there’s gotta be some easy way to generate enough to make
A difference

I’m sure someone on this planet already knows how to do it cheap and easy.

Quick question for you all running Co2....
Exactly HOW MUCH light are you guys running to justify needing the supplement so badly?

@ 81.25w/sq. ft. of HID, Lux was right @ 70k-80k across the canopy which left me with 20+ oz off a single Gorilla Glue with NO Co2.

So again I ask,
How much y'all running to "need" this Co2 again?
You're saying that you got about 60 oz from 1300 watts or so?

Not 60.
20 oz. from the GG.
4'x8'
8 plants running, so 2'x2' footprint in the tent
2x- 1000W HPS
1x- 600w HPS
(4+ pounds from 6 different strains left tent. GG is in the back left corner behind the Blue Dream)
So yeah 60+ oz. But from 2.6kW not 1.3. I'm not that good ;) Was the tail end of my second grow...20200517_050246.jpg

Hint: newbs don't need extra CO2. The benefits are seen by experienced users in high production grows.

Many posts on RIU about CO2, but rarely do I see any huge impact at harvest time.

My advice, place your time your time and effort in lighting, soil, temps, and food. These areas have the biggest impact on successful grows.

Especially when we are talking about new growers.
I’m growing soil without switching over to two foood tables, I have two passive tents I can’t see how if your passive intake this makes any sense. It be like a fart in a tent

They might sell but that doesn't mean they work to produce enough Co2 to do anything.

They sell the Slap Chop as well but it doesn't work. Just because something sells and people buy it doesn't mean it works.

They've sold a ton of these worthless Slap Chops just like they've sold a ton of those worthless Co2 bags.

Co2 bags and the Slap Chop are in the same category. Both worthless products.

A healthy living soil bed can produce a fair amount of co2. Significant amounts if your room is filled with them.
Yes that’s what I hear I’m pretty excited to get This co2 monitor to see what’s going on

I think I’ll be able to make a smartphone co2 monitor with a history graph for around 50$ - I want to post the info so everyone can do it. My Vpd monitor only cost 7$ to make And works awesome
