I have a 5x5x8 and I’m currently running 6 photo periods in my tent in 5 gallon Warrior pots. It’s tight in there. I plan to go back to growing four plants because I like more space between the plants and I’m less concerned with quantity.

If i wanted a fast grow i would go for 9 plants in smaller pots, 3gal. If I wanted to max my yield i would grow 4 in 10gal pots.

Until the 4th node pops out I’ll use a desk lamp with a 23w cfl after that I’ll use a 1000w hps bulb

This trully depending on how large you would like to see them grow. I currently have a 10x10 set up with 30 plant in 5 gallon pot feeding 1 gallon of water every 4-5 days. My plants are currently about 2 1/2 - 3ft tall about to go into flower. My tent is also 7ft tall which gives me some wiggle room with my lights height. The current lights I am using are x5 CMH 315w lamps to spread out my light access to my canopy evenly (this is very important for equal light exposure.

Too short a veg for only four plants in a 5x5. I'd veg for at least eight weeks, several toppings and branch tie downs to spread out the canopy. I veg eight weeks before they go into a 4x4' with a 1kW HPS. The canopy is nice and spread out wall-to-wall.

I use 3 gallon plastic pots, filled with Sunshine #4 peat-based medium.

What are your yields like?

I have a similar sized tent 5x5x8 is it okay to plant 7 plants in a 5 gallon pot? How far apart should I place the pots? I’m planning on purchasing either 2x 1000w LED lights, or 600w HPS.

Keep in mind, if your tent is a square( as mine is) youll need to lay it out on a grid type pattern if that makes sense. Like 2×3 3×3 3×4 4×4 and so on. 7 plants cant fit in a grid to utilize your space fully. Youd either wanna go up to 9 or down to 6

If you have a healthy mother, and you take decent sized clones and get a good root zone established, you would put 6x6 square pots, 36 total. You veg for 2 days then flip, or just drop 3 hours at a time. Lift your lights high and blast. Cut off all other branching except main cola. Choose a strong single cola strain, preferrably indica dominant. If you grow vertically - 2ea 4x4 trays in a 5x5 gorilla tent with extended ceiling, or mount fan externally... use led strips...you could be harvesting some 36 donkeys a month. Now I mean colas the size of the brim of those square pots, just bumping up against eachother. Beats the hell out of vegging for 3 months... this style of growing is truly an artform. Since I am feeling generous:

So yeah, most people associate their growing skills with what they had around them at the time. In the US, and elsewhere, plant limits forced growers to find ways to maximize production out of a single plant. Therfore terms like LST, lollypopping etc

There is no doubt you will produce more rapidly, and I would even argue better quality as growth is concentrated in to one cola. If you angle the trays a bit and drain to waste, you can set up drip irrigation 3 times pr day in porous coco or mapito. You'd be killin it.

Here is my 4x4 with a 600w MH/HPS with one plant.. vegged at 6 weeks today. It really depends on your growing style. I would love an extra 9 square feet in my tent and 400 more watts lol. Big yields at that point!
