I have 1 hlg 300 v2 rspec in a 3x3 tent but I want to max the tent out so I bought a lm301b led board 240w . I’m in veg right now with my autoflowers so I only got the hlg in there which I think is 3500k but for flower I wanted to put the lm301b led board in which is 3000k in the tent as well . Both have 240 watt meanwell drivers would that be too much light
Is 2 240 watt leds too much light for 3x3

Keep light as high up as possible no matter what light you go with. My suggestion. The plants will always grow up to the light

480 watts will be too much For your 3x3ft tent setup, but one of the benefits of using lights with dimmable drivers is you can adjust the current up/down as needed.
Your HLG 300 V2 R-Spec is dimmable and your other light most likely is as well. What driver does the R-Spec have, an HLG-240H-C2100A? What is the driver model on your other light?
You can put both lights in your tent (assuming you can fit them-is your R-Spec the former square model or is it the newer HLG 300L rectangular light?) and dim them as needed. You may end up around the same wattage as the R-Spec light turned all the way up or a little higher, but you will have a better spread of light and the diodes on your boards will run more efficiently.

If you have the headroom, it can work but you will have a very high ppfd over the canopy.
I run over 40 watts/sq ft in my main room using lm561c and lm301b diodes and they will show signs of over-saturation on the top colas.
That's with the fixtures @30" above the canopy.

Yes it’s the square model and the 240h driver my otheRled has a meanwell xlg240ha and does not have a dimmer

Hey man, the R-Spec driver has onboard current adjustment, under a rubber plug on the front of the driver marked lo ADJ.
Your other light with the XLG-240-H-A driver also has onboard current adjustment, under a rubber plug on the back of the driver marked lo. ADJ. If your driver is attached to the light frame you may need to temporarily unscrew it to access the lo ADJ.
With both of these drivers remove the rubber plug (and replace when you are finished adjusting the current). With a small screwdriver, counterclockwise turns the current down and clockwise turns the current up (the pots are sensitive, turn slowly and try not to be rough with it).
If you don't have a multimeter, you can use a kill-a-watt meter to see the wattage at the wall of each light. Plug each driver into the meter individually as you adjust the current on the driver and observe the wattage draw.

Lol holy shit I just found the ADJ plug on the the XLG driver . The driver was mounted so I had to unscrew it just like u said . I don’t know why meanwell put their ADJ on the bottom of the driver it makes no sense. I already knew about the hlg driver it’s conveniently on the top of the driver. Anyways thank u so much I was starting to think I wouldnt be able to use it in my tent but u really helped out So thank u

Maybe 350 watts or so (360 watts would be 40 watts per square foot). You'll want to go by feel and monitor the plants response to the intensity of the lights.
Do you know what wattage your R-Spec light is at now?
You said you are in veg. How big are your plants, are you seeing any pre-flowers yet?
When you add the second light I would dim both lights so together they are around or slightly less than the wattage your R-Spec light is running at now. Increase the intensity of the lights slowly as your plants mature and can handle more light. Raise or dim the lights slightly if the plants are showing signs of light stress.
If you don't have a lux meter, they are handy and relatively inexpensive. They can help with adjusting light height, spread, and intensity.

My rspec was dimmed to about 70% And I was going to turn it to 100% when they went into flower but since I got the 2nd light I just cranked it to 100% and my plant r still small 2 og kush auto is 3 weeks old the purple punch and skittles og autos r about 2 weeks so there still in veg I’m lst’ing one of the og kush autos right now.
I just checked eBay and they have then Lux meter I’m ordering it right now what should my optimal Lux be? Sorry for all the question it feel different hearing it from someone who knows my situation rather than reading it online. Thanks again
