I understood that herms are likely to make more herms in their seeds or using the pollen.

The same thing happens when STS is used to convert a female to a male. People do this with female clones trying to keep the strain / pheno and end up with bad seed.
There shouldn't be an issue with fem seeds as long as stable plants are used. I have grown many fems and have yet to find a hermie. Herm seeds are more likely to herm because the parent itself was a hermie, it's in it's genetics.

This was a reference to fem seeds made with pollen coming from a male plant that was reversed using STS (Silver Thiosulfate Solution). Normally there should be stress testing and some background work done before selecting a plant to be reversed. It is this process that makes pollen which will produce only female seeds. Breeders do have problems with this occasionally and the problem can show up intermittently.

Hermies can also happen when a plant is stressed.

Would it be ok to put my plants the garage for 2 days due to this tropical storm. I have them in a greenhouse now but i do not know if the green house will hold up with the strong winds

If you supply the correct environment and keep up very closely with the natural/light cycle they are already on you should be fine.

But if you mess those dark/light periods up, or you dont know that your garage spikes to 120° during the day or something itd be bad news.

My “SFV OG” the only one of my 11 in full flower; I noticed her flowers about 2.5 weeks ago - so maybe 3 weeks in??? What do you guys think? Chain-link fence is 5.5ft tall for reference.

She has a wonderful floral/grape scent like a cross between Wisteria and grape scratch-n-sniff stickers, with a hint of fuel. I know she isn’t a true SFV OG those are clone only, but probably a cross between one and and unknown as she is from bag seed.

And thanks for whoever gave the advice to take cuttings of my male (Stealthfader?). As you can see it’s working out beautifully!
Ditto on the thanks to Steathfader for that advice. Have pollen now from both Balkhi and Waziri males to play with.

Killing it bro.

Do you have any plans for supporting or tying those tall / long limbed ones up. Those are going to get real heavy and snap relatively easy when they grow out long like that. A Trellis net just thrown over the top and maybe some stake that you can tie some branches to and take some of the weight off them. Wouldn't want to see you lose any.

That has been weighing on my mind. I did purchase a bunch of trim wood scrap that are essentially garden stakes from Home Depot for $1 each. I just have to find some netting. What do you use, hammock net?

I just bought some mason line like 1000ft(maybe 5k?) for 9 bucks(home depot) and over the winter was just making nets indoors on taped up on the wall, Then I ran out, so I bought a 2 pack of actual trellis netting for like 10 bucks or so(amazon) I think they were like 5x15 or so.. If your going to need a bunch you can buy it in bigger rolls for cheaper. Hammock I feel like would be way too thick.. The trellis nets I got on amazon are the same exact mason line I got pretty much exact width/strand/feel/everything. They also have commercial ones that are made from a plastic which hold up better and are still light weight. Just search trellis nets and if you decide you need a good amount look into the commercial greenhouse/nursery suppliers for bulk options. I believe They're pretty reasonable for the value they provide. Theres also the technique using the nettting in a scrog type canopy set up you can estimate your yields better when using them if you grow the same strains and do multiple harvests because you can extrapolate the grams per 4x4 inch square "column" across the grow area. if you aim to get like one top per square or whatever.

and the string looked like this just bigger length/roll

Edit forgot the net did come with that green bread twist tie garden tie pack with the cutter.. and that has actually been very helpful to have out there for random stuff too.... Definitely worth the 12 bucks if thats all you needed.. But I think these 2 packs only barely covered 1.5 plants around and top...
They dont seem to go very far thats for sure... But same token, dont go the tie your own with string route this year... that shit was annoying and took a long time, But I probably saved about a hundred bucks just hanging out inside watching a movie and tying the same knot over and over..

Awesome thanks! Looking into it now.

Just set up up trellis on 2 of the real big ones the other day (pic 3). Bamboo stakes and hortinova trellis off amazon. Honestly the structure is pretty flimsy and it was probably bad timing with the storm coming this week. With 35-50 mph winds I should probably expect it to collapse. As my second outdoor grow this will be the worst storm I've experienced, not too sure what to expect in terms of damage. I might be able to move 1 maybe 2 of the smaller plants indoors but the rest gotta tough it out. Either way, praying for everyones safety and hope that the mother nature tax is light this time around.

Looks great, One thing Ive noticed that helps is driving smaller stakes into the ground deeper (possibly at an angle too) right next to your vertical stakes and then tie around them, They seem to shore up the PVC alot better, as well as running a rope across the stakes horizontally toward to bottom, or cross members... Anything to make that whole thing one structure including the plant. Finally... for next time its so much easier getting them in place before the plants grow into them, Cant tell you how many branches Ive snapped trying to get cages and nets in place on bushy plants.. especially by yourself. Good luck this week.

, My new privacy fence/shade cloth/wind screen fabric should be here today and my whole plot will be closed in. Then will be living out there for the next 2 months or so.. Will keep everything updated, good luck everyone.Outdoor_Crop_July_22_2020_(35).jpg

Cage was rebar'd into the pot before transplant, then when second cage was added, drove the broom stick into both cages and pot... The pvc was cut in like a 2-3 ft piece, hammered down deep then attached a full length pvc pipe on the end. There are 2 of those PVC that have 10ft rebar inside of them driven some have small 2 ft rebar to anchor into ground if needed, then theres rope tying the cagefrom the stakes up the top of cage 2, and back down. Then when trellis and outside PVC added, I had added the cross members which seem to have held up. I can lean/hang onto the top of the pole when im up on the ladder, and if I push anywhere on the structure it moves as one...

With that being said, I do have plants I didnt have enough welded wire fence/cage for so it only has one inner layer, will try to throw a net on those this week but we'll have to see how she does.

By the way, these are all suggestions for what Ive found thats helped me, by no means do I want you to think Imtelling you what you do.. The plants look great, keep doing what you're doing.

What's up everyone as usual I'm a little late to the party but I figured I'll try to post regularly from here on out. Anyway this year I am doing all different strains in 65 gallon smart pots and everything's going real smooth so far. Ghost train haze started flowering 4 days ago and other than that just waiting for the rest to start.

Those look nice and healthy. Where do you get the smart pots?

Which company did you purchase your seeds from? Those are landrace correct?
Yes they are landraces, from The Real Seed Company Co. in the UK. Ordered through their export partner website kwikseeds.com. Excellent customer service, both with replacing some Chitrali seeds that didn’t pop and then replacing the lost replacement order.

Any ideas of what this is? Only the ends of a couple branches of one of my Dinafem OG Kush’s.

Could it be Phosphorous or potsssium deficiency?

I do have a grape cultivar 15 feet away that has black rot, but this is only affecting these few leaf sets so I’m doubtful black rot is the cause.

Somebody else was talking about this and it looks allot like what you've got.

Have a look.

I though so. I am heavily eyeing a few landraces on kwikseeds for next season, most likely that Tashkurgan! It would be a separate plot one strain only to find the best and further their genetics. The link above is to a podcast interview with Angus of RSC, in which he speaks about his experiences with landrace generous etc. I found it quite interesting.

Oh boy that sure does look it...
Apparently it’s a vector borne bacterial disease spread by leafhoppers etc.
I did cut the affected pieces off as (I believe you) recommended and thus far no more areas - fingers crossed. Appreciate the in depth research!
