Its soaking wet where I am. I have lived here for 17 years and this is in top 3 for wetness. Cold shit spring too so everything got a weak start. I feel like I am two weeks behind and have little hope for anything spectacular and am expecting mold. Total of 12 going atm, mainly for shits and giggles. Had a caterpillar issue I solved, not before a few got a tad fuckered with but luckily they were the weak ones. All in all I am looking forward to growing inside this fall.

Usually end up with lots of lady bugs come late Aug...they will do what they can....
I don't ever remember seeing those aphids on my cannabis plants....but I do remember them in what seemed like orgy mode on plants like these

I have seen some of the pheno's of a strain I have... that goes wooley mammouth fur coat...but they also produce a pile of bud...

I have had this big fellow making his way thru my apple tree's,for the last two or 3 nights...he does not waste much...eats them right down to the

I never knew they’d go after apples like that, I’ve seen lots in my travels but unfortunately they are extirpated from this area.

Ladybugs and their young are starting to show up for me in numbers. Which is good because these damn aphids clone themselves and double the population every 1.2 hours in this heat. Also they can grow wings and fly, which is how I keep getting them. I found some threads from California where they try to control these aphids with spray, and their numbers explode because the predators are affected. Best to let nature take its course, I don’t want any synthetic chemicals on my medicine.

Diatomaceous earth did a great job on those Japanese beetles and works on most insects.

Thanks Zoic but it would be a chore to get the undersides of all the leaves, and it will affect the predators too. The plants are 7’ to 9’ tall and 6’ diameter now. Last year nature took care of it, if it gets bad I can always hose them down.

The Japanese beetles have really slowed down, they are attracted to soybeans. After the glyphosate goes down swarms show up to eat the diseased weeds and beans as they weaken. My beetle tea works excellent and kills the grubs in the ground as well. It seems to stay with the plant and they still take a bite but won’t keep eating. I find dead ones every day.

They have really done a number on the hibiscus and climbing beans this year.

The drought left many wild plants in tough shape, and it was the mildest winter I can remember so it has been a buggy year. Wait until the grasshoppers hit adulthood.

I grabbed a 50 lb bag last year to help keep the fleas at bay it worked great.
You can get it from farm supply in bulk,since the use it in animal feed(food grade) to keep it from having any wet areas in the feed lines.

Things are puring along nicely except for the humidity she’s full and it’s been wet in Ab. I have ventilation running off a thermostat. Doesn't help at night so I Set up a dehu for the nights. I’m hoping for a dry spell soon. I’ve had a couple branches get stem rot. Cut them off and it hasn’t returned, but I’m watching like a hawk. I’m open to any advice from anyone who has run a dep greenhouse.

Overcast here but plants are managing fine. I am going to have to hide them next week, having my roof done. May have to set up a light in the shed.

Thinking about next year already. Would like to have a bigger pot with soil. Will have to manage it to get inside a standard door frame. Maybe some kind of dolly to move them inside when going 12/12.

Noticed I have aphids. Ants were on my plants, just learned that the ants collect the honeydew the aphids leave behind.

I am expecting to have more than my current bunch. Also I hope to have them out way before this yea's bunch. I like the idea of sliding them over at the same height. I also move them around a few times a day chasing the sun. I may have to pave a section of my dirt patch yet.

Canadian grow at 42, been real hot, temps over 100 without adding the humidex. 100% organic on ground that has never been tilled. I grabbed these photos in the evening after depositing 50 gallons of fish tank water with a bit of tuna head emulsion. Mulch is aged cow manure 3/4” and bush mulch 1” over a six foot circle. I might still add a ring around it lol.

Canuck GG4 out of a vendors sample pack, the one I did last year had the most disgusting flavours of garbage methane and fermenting fruit, the day I picked it the buds were so sticky that gnats were getting stuck on it. A neighbour grew the same from a pack he’d purchased and it was junk:

The GTxPCK is seven feet tall, 5 feet wide and growing 4” per day. I don’t plan on topping or covering any of them. The Red Hair has been hiding in a corn field down the road since the 70’s. It has always been great smoke, I’m pretty excited about growing it.

It was a question of thinning out the plants I have downstairs. Which ones do I remove? And then a buddy went through the same thing and brought me the two tall ones. I am hoping end of September although it might go into October. If anything I am thinking I can finish them off in my shed.

I’m in western Canada, i haven’t moved mine around, I’m usually fighting frost or snow lol. Left and center are clones from my indoor run, toppings.. somewhat neglected as I’m in it for the free light. Plant on right is from seed and I’m taking cuts of it today. Your plants look great!

The weather has been beauty in southwestern Ontario eh. Solid heat...nice amount of rain (and a hose feed every now and then).

Using Stepwell organic top dress on it from here on out (bloom).

Just started to set flowers this week.
LVTK and Purple Punch Wind storm required some netting. I am going to need to build a bigger trellis. They all hit that 8 foot 2 x 2 this week. Stretch is going on now but they wont gain much more height.

I ran some tests on the aphids to get them off of cuttings. They seem to be resistant to chemicals. Mosquito coils with synthetic pyrethrins would not kill them even with multiple fumigations. Rosemary essential oil and soap was not effective either, and it causes spider mites to die on contact.

Epsom salt in water at 4 tsp per litre will dessicate them as the solution dries. Takes about three applications.

From people I’ve talked to it seems not everyone has them. The bigger the plants, the more likely the cannabis aphids find them when they fly around. Ladybugs seem to have it under control outdoors.
