Bud rot. A lot at stake

Hey folks. I have an issue here. I am googling and getting the books back out. I have never had this issue of bud rot or mold. I have several harvests of accumulated cannabis that I grew over the past year, and therefore obviously have to check up on then regularly. I just discovered this after issue cracking the bud open this morning. This is a bud from one of 4 turkey bags containing my recent harvest. I know this is bad and nobody can tell me how bad. But i dont want to make things worse be freaking out and spreading more mold spores on virgin, innocent bud. I isolated the infected bag in a jar and put that jar in a separate closet as seen in pic. Ideas on what I should do with the rest of this harvest, let alone, the rest of my entire stock. My intuition tells me to put on gloves and start inspecting each bud carefully. But wouldnt that just be spreading spores. Would opening up the turkey bags and jars be a bad idea bc the spores might be in the air. These are just some of the questions that are going through my head. Thanks for any help. This is slightly soul crushing. The other pics are showing what the situation looks like in real time. That's how everything looks right now. Should I open up the bags at least (but worried about spores in room).

All of these buds are really dense but this last harvest was extremely dense (credit to top shooter). The densest harvest yet, so it would make since that it only is attacking the recent harvest. And even tho that would suck, I could live with that

That's very much a possibility. And thank you. I'll do that type of assessment later. I do think jarred this harvest too soon, so I actually agree. What should I do about my entire situation as seen in the pics. Indont want to spread this stuff. But I dont want it to creep into my other harvest without my knowing

Its only in the recent harvest, as I can tell. I check my stash regularly, and this is a first. I'm sorry if I worded things wrong. My questions is about what I should do at this point forward so salvage my cannabis, nor what went wrong in the last grow or dry

You're going to have to crack buds open and see for yourself. Do this outside and shower/change before you go near other bud bags.
Thanks, this is the kind of answers I'm looking for. I dont think I will be able to do what you suggest for several reasons. But you get at a question that I'm asking myself. If I check each bud out individually, am I just contaminating then possibly? I want to check them out asap, but rushing to that feels like the wrong idea

For example, one question I have is what I should do with this isolated jar of weed. I emptied the contaminated turkey bag into this jar and put it into a separate closet. But what should I do now lol. These may seem like dumb questions, but I've never dealt with bud rot and have enough mycology experience to know that some molds dont fuck around

Since what is assumed to be the source is now contained, your next step is cleaning all areas that you passed through.

Also, listen to the other folks here. In this scenario, all suggestions should be weighed against your situation and adapted accordingly.

Chuck out all the moldy stuff. Visually inspect the rest really carefully. Smoke at your own discretion.

I wouldn't smoke it, if it was everywhere and there was other herb. Making edibles would be totally fine.

I know, it's very easy to get snappy bc I want the exact answer right now lol. I did try to pull back and remember everyone is just trying to help and I do appreciate that. I just wanted to make sure this didnt get off topic about what I did wrong. It's most likely because I jarred too early like the comments above. It's been very very humid lately. My questions are about what to do this point forward. I dont want to do more damage bc im too impatient to wait and search for an answer. So idk lol, I do thank everyone for help.

Thank for your input. Could you elaborate though. Would you not smoke any of the stuff in the pic. It's unlikely they all just formed bud rot this month. Should keep the rest of the jars closed then and the turkey bags shut and move them to another room and hope it doesn't have mold spores?

No definitely not. I wouldn't be going anywhere near the bud in the first pick.

If there are buds from the same jar / bag / grow, that look fine, they're probably fine, just smoke them at your own discretion.

If you don't fancy smoking it, make edibles with it. That's what I always do anyway.

If I may suggest slowing the dry down a little and extending it with big heavy buds like those. Paper bag, straw basket, cotton bag or whatever, to store them for several days before jarring, so you can be sure the moisture evens out through the bud.

Thanks man for input. Before I start opening up the other bags and jars to air them out and check to see if they've been affected (it has been extra extra humid here lately in southern Michigan),...should I take then into another room, spray lysol around. I have a feeling in going to have to do more research because I have so many questions about possibly freezing the bad harvest and processing it into either edibles or wax preferably. Sorry for my lack of explaining well

That's alright,

Maybe worth taking it to a separate room or outside, if you're doing it near your grow, or hanging plants. That's about it and clean your hands afterward.

Just sort it all and bin the mold. Might be worth airing the bud out overnight, if the harvest wasn't long ago, or if there's any sense of dampness.

Again, thank you for taking the time to help. I feel like I'm overthinking shit, but mycology taught me how aggressive and easily mold spores transfer around. I'm guessing the best I can do is what you said, because eventually I'm going to have to open the jars. And just hope that I'm not infecting other buds
