Theyre both decent lights. But id lean more towards the spiderfarmer. It all depends on your setup and grow space.

KB all the way. Why pay extra for an inferior light?
That's one opinion. The spiderfarmer is actually the better quality light overall, and has a 3 year warranty where as the KB has a 1 year warranty and uses epistar diodes for 660nm reds. But both are decent lights either way

OP what are the dimensions of your grow space?

The spider farmer is just a rebranded China light. Although it may come with a better warranty it’s not worth double the price.

You can also get the KB without reds or with CREE’s.

The warranty with Spider Farmer isnt that good in my opinion. After 3 months you need to pay to ship it back and pay for repair.
I agree. If I was looking to buy a Spider Farmer light (hypothetically), seeing that warranty repairing and shipping fees are charged after 3 months would make me reconsider. Do you know if this is common with certain companies, Chinese or otherwise?

Mars Hydro also has a similar 3 year warranty with shipping charges imposed on the buyer after 1 year if they want to fix their light themselves, or shipping, handling and repair charges imposed if Mars Hydro fixes the light.

I'm not sure if thats a common warranty for led since Im new to this type of lighting and all 3 of my led's came from Alibaba. My lights come with a 3 year warranty on board and driver but they just send me the replacement instead of sending it back for repair.

You obviously don't know kingbrite is manufactered in shenzen china. You call spiderfarmer a rebranded chinese light, but the kingbrite is a chinese light. They are both made with meanwell drivers and samsung diodes in china. That said i would pick neither of them but if limited to those 2 the kingbrite is a much better value for your $

I’m very well aware Kingbrite is a China light, why do you think my order came from China?

My point being that both of them are made in China, so why would you pay a middleman like SF or Mars who rebrand the light and charge a big markup?

You said it yourself, Kingbrite is a much better value.

I mistook the its "a china light rebrand" to mean you were insulting the quality of the light, like somehow the KB was a higher quality because its not china, my bad.

Yes the KB is a better value than the SF but dont take my comment as endorsement of the kingbrite. Theres better than both out there. :)

No worries! I think KB & Meijiu definitely have their place in terms of value for a pre-assembled unit. Will be comparing a mix of KB 240w 3500k / HLG QB 96’s against my trusty HPS this round.

I’d like to try some Timber COB’s in the future.

Honestly .. with a sf4000/a diy knockoff with lm301b or h and meanwell drivers next to a hlg 550 r spec you wouldnt be able to tell the difference. To each their own but alot of people waste money on a brand name... too much light bashing around here because of where a light is made.. even hlg diodes are made at the exact same plant as a knockoff led board yeah in CHINA assembled in USA. All the claims that hlg picks the best top bin diodes.. they are the same diodes. Lm301b and lm301h are the same diode.. samsung has stated this themselves

So you quoted me to say the exact same thing i did? I said they are all made in china with samsung diodes and meanwell drivers. I also said the kingbrite was the better value cause they are basically the same. I never said the word HLG once and never implied i think hlg is better, because i dont.

I actually buy strips and assemble it myself.

I settled with the king right 320w. Its a good led I feel to do the job, plus it will run cheaper than a gavita for electricity. I'm also going to use my kingled 120w as well. My goal is 2-3 ounces a plant and be able to grow 4-6. I got a 60x60x80 grow tent as well. This grow i got only 1 ounce for two plants. It was mainly do to my light situation. Only probably a decent light for just one plant, plus didnt have the space. Now I got bigger space, grow tent, and way better light. My first successful grow ever i pulled only 15g from 3 plants . That was grown under terrible conditions. So I am improving
