T tries to grow a pound

Day 45. I really like the structure of these plants. And they look like they are are going to put on some poundage.

@TintEastwood
So did I read in the other thread you don't use epsom salt? Is it just the part A and B then? I'm going to give that a try on my next run if that's the case.

Compare the Ca to Mg ratio, with and without epsom

I try to keep Mg about half of Ca. Sometimes half a gram of epsom is the sweet spot. Can vary if I'm also using some calimagic.

Day 56 - Was taking a picture of some new seedlings so I remember when they were planted and got a few nice pictures of the Alaskan Purple plants.

The seedlings are girl scout cookies by blimblurm. Freebies from Seedsman.

Day 62 - The buds have started to fall over. I put up a few supports but knocked down twice as many as I supported so I gave up pretty early. Was planning to harvest in 2-3 weeks but probably going to be closer to a week now.

Thought this was an interesting video about trees(real trees not those trees). Some trees grow in water so salty that the osmotic pressure actually would force water out of the tree without other mechanisms.
In other words, the salty water has a high EC and that normally causes water to flow out of the plant (This is nutrient burn!)

Also thought it was interesting that 95% of the water uptake is effectively not used and just transpires from the plant. I wonder what it is for cannabis?

I would like to give this a try sometime. Would it be worth it? Probably not. But it would be some cool smoke to have and an interesting challenge.
I wonder what the flower time was for this plant? 6 months?

Day 71. Still packing on a decent amount of weight. I noticed a possible spider web a week ago and found another one today. I found the webs between buds that had been pushed apart by growth. Seems like an odd location to find webs but I don't know what else they could be.

Day 0-3 of hanging. Usually my plants hang for about 4 days before I jar them *shrug*. This dry looks like it is going to take longer. I'm surprised by the heavy green smell this time.
@Nefrella will like the last picture :)

I really liked the results from washing my buds last time. Did it this time and will be doing it every time from now on.

Day 26 lol - I had some problems with my new plants. I used old coco that still had some roots in it. I read some roots would be okay and decided to try it.
I was pretty confident the transplant would work but I underestimated the time it would take for the plants to recover. I also accidentally doubled the PPM's I was giving the plants after transplant.
I think they are back on track now, still look beat though.

I'm going to try 1 gallon containers this run I think. @TintEastwood Can you give me an idea of what your watering schedule looks like in 1 gallon pots.

Nice setup T. I'm a halo fan. Too old for the video game. rut ruh. lol

My general coco method that works, but I"m still evolving!
Feeding light, but more often. Average 1.4EC / 700PPM (500)
The size/root maturity of the plants above, I would probably be feeding them twice a day, like 15-seconds-ish, but not to runoff so as to encourage root development. Just a light douche for fresh oxygen and nutes - no dry spots - evenly wet/saturated. Feeding low ec, not letting them dry, no risk of salt buildup for the approx 2 weeks of this stage.
Multi-feeding 3+ times a day is for after the roots are mature - rootbound and air pruning.
Airflow, Room temps and RH are other variables that affect pot drying and feeding.

Hope that's of some help.

The words "washing buds" give me the heebie jeebies man! Not tryna be a dick, I just genuinely dont understand the "why" but I'd like to. I've seen this b4. Not much but I have seen it done and i just do not understand for the life of my why someone would spend all that time growing just to dip em in water and get bud rot or something a grower wouldn't want. What is the benefit of this. Again I'm not bashing the process whatsoever I just dont understand it and if there's something to be learned here id love to learn it.

From what I'm reading, it's so they dont dry in 4 days. That would make sense to me. If ur in a dry area this could be very beneficial to prolong the drying process a bit

My grow room is shared with 2 humans, a dog and cat. All of them put off a bunch of hair and other icky stuff! :)

My buds seem to have less hair when I wash them and they look cleaner to me(shrug). And this is just my limited experience, but the washed buds seem to make me cough less. Not sure though.
I'm also not filtering my air that goes into the grow room. Technically the furnace filter is cleaning the air but there is still a lot of dirt/hair buildup over the course of a grow.
