I hate FKN spider mites!

let me start this off by saying i would absolutely love to chuck the plants out and restart but I am unable to get any more seeds in aus. So, my mother plants have spider mites and I need to eradicate them. I fucked up and kept my mothers in a tent outside and they got infested, lesson learnt, they will live in my home for the future.

at first I thought it was a deficiency, so I took some cuttings, they rooted and have been in my main tent for about 5 days. These clones are where I actually first spotted the mites, which lead me to check the mother plants.

so my plan now is to axe the mothers, set them on fire, clean the outdoor tent vigorously and then move it inside. While doing this I will need to eradicate the spider mites from the clones in my main tent and grow them into my new mother plants. Frustrating, but it’s probably my only option with no seeds on the market.
Has anyone successfully 100% eradicated spider mites? I purchased some neem oil today which says to mix 10mL per 5L of water. Anything else I can add to really get the fuckers?

Would also like to bug bomb the grow room once again. Would it be alright to put the clones in my bedroom during lights out, bug bomb the tent and clean it with h202, then move the clones back once lights are on and then bug bomb my bedroom too?

If your in veg and wont be flowering for a while increase temps go nuclear a few times.

When I say Nuclear I mean a Poison and a Systemic. Spray, fog whatever your gonna do, get it done. At 86 degrees all mites eggs will have hatched daily within a week. Do it again. personally i would stay in veg 30 days before flower with avid or flower immediately if you dont mind cutting it close 10 week strains will be fine.

Treating spider-mites on mature plants is nearly impossible. Trim the mothers down to a few twigs and then baptize the plants two to three times in pyrethrum over the course of ten days. Check them severely and repeat the process if needed.

i did it without using poison. just like you said. cull everything except small veg plants. clean out the tent with bleach/whatever cleaner you want. then spray the plants using alternating spray of capt jacks dead bug brew (spinosad), safer soap(potassium salts of fatty acids), and something essential oil based like green cleaner/86/purecrop. all non-toxic. keep spraying and keep plants in veg till you are 100% sure they are gone. then keep treating your veg plants that way. whatever brought the pests in the first time will do it again so you either have to keep your grow squeaky clean or just consider pest management part of your veg routine. GL.

I ordered some of the kill-a-mite which I linked above, this is what I’ll be using as a poison. I also got some of the richgro bug killa which is a systemic. Should I apply these is a specific order? Or should I use both right away?

The other I cannot tell because it dosnt state what the active ingredient is so I dont know. The eggs protect them its hard to kill them inside of the egg, I would get something very effective like avid or something similiar and prepare to attack them after they hatch which will be days after your 1st application at your temps.

Be efficient.
Hit them hard hit them multiple times and apply a systemic, use neem as a prevenative, nothing will want your plants.

Knock down poison
Maintenance systemic
Prevenative neem.

Garden will be clear of bugs

I had to do a bit of research. killamite same thing as avid. good find. Its toxic to eggs but it dosnt work on eggs as well as hatched hence it states to spray again 7 days later.

Make sure that you get complete coverage on plants. That with your systemic and your regular maintenance of azamax makes your plants a uninhabitable for pests.

I would use the systemic along with your 1st spray as its gonna last 60 days in your plant. You want it to have cleared the plant by harvest.

Great info thank you! It’s good to find some products that I can get locally. A lot of the good stuff that is recommended just takes so long to arrive from the states. Thanks again for the help! Much appreciated

Oh and 1 more thing. I am running the plants in coco coir/ perlite and the richgro product is granules, do I just add to the top of the coco and water in with my regular feeds?
And should I be chasing the runoff to see if it effects my pH?

You wont be using that much to change ph a gram or 2. that systemic is more so for everything else. fungus gnats, root aphids green aphids thrips ect. if you have a vegetable/fruit garden they are there and then will be in your tent. imid its nasty but it works. the avid and the azamax is what will take out the mite population on your plants so dont go over board with that systemic to attack the mites because it wont. its to keep you clean to harvest. put it on top n water in.

The Avid should work just fine. As long as you follow the directions properly.

I prefer FORBID 4F myself.
One and done stuff. The active ingredient is also used in hand lotions and some shampoo's. It acts on the bug's ability to absorb lipid fats.


Each of them ONLY need to be applied lightly on the top surface of the leaves. No having to spray the bottom of the leaves.

Now then. IF you ever get Russet mites (the BORG). Use each on a 5 day rotation of 2 applications each - alternating every other spraying.

Wait a week and see how your doing. You must knock Russet mites down quickly or the plant can/will get genetic damage.
Many simply chuck and start over. Russet's suck....
