Going to try to finish a hermie...

Had a fungus gnat problem and it apparently caused 1 of my current two flowering plants to hermie. Mother of this clone produced very smooth (but very effective) smoke - so I want to finish it. Within a day of noticing "maleness" I heavily defoliated and plucked the pollen sacs I could find, and expect to repeat every 3-4 days for the 5-6 weeks to the finish line.

What are my chances, and yes, I KNOW I'm risking the other plant as well...

You are still a ways from the finish line, I don't think it would be worth the risk.

Would it be worth it to you if the rest of the crop got some seed? I think your chances are low of ending up without some seed.

How many other plants are you risking?

Just the one in the tent with the hermie. The bugs stunted it and limited my lst-ing, so it's not producing that much, or I wouldn't take the chance (no matter how good the affected plant might be).

I'm curious whether anybody's tended and plucked a hermie's sacs without any pollination...

I have seen people pull them for a couple weeks, I think you would be breaking a record.

It seems almost impossible to stop them all. If its your only option for smoke, run with it. Shit can get pretty barren in da UP.

If you can get some plants to replace it I would go with that option, fix your issues, and start fresh with some time lost. Easier said than done, ofcourse.

This is Ebay "Girl Scout Cookies" - maybe it really IS! But it's the last survivor of a good line, so I'm inclined to take a chance. I've beaten the odds before, lol.

I ordered seeds today, so if necessary I can start from scratch without getting hard up. Will add to this thread as the situation develops....

bag it. ie put a big clear polly bag over it tolimit the spread of hermie gene laden pollen spreading.
you could put it in a seperate card board/growarea box with a small light in it

it looks like someone gotsome coloidal silver for xmas and are producing there own seeds. some are in the original breeders packaging, or so it woulseem

If it's from seed. It's not the true GSC strain. The real GSC is a clone only strain.

I might put in my veg area and stow it somewhere else for the extra 6 hours of light...GOOD IDEA! Nothing in there can be hurt by a little pollen...

If it CAN be done, and a scammer CAN make a buck - you can bet somebody will do it. The sativa I got did just deliver (drying now) - though I have NO idea WHAT it delivered yet. The other order produced 3 oz. of good stuff, so I don't feel ripped off...

If your in Michigan, you should be able to get decent clones somewhere. What state are you actually in? You can always order seeds online too, but I prefer to start with clones if I can. I'm in Colorado, so we're spoiled as fuck here with the options.

I've been growing a clone only Green Crack for over 2 years now. Real GG4, Sunset Sherbert, and more are down in town right now. Sunset Sherbert is a sweet plant too, but it likes to throw nanners if you piss her off at all. The buds get big super fast. Sunset Sherbert is GSC x Pink Panties.

Lol, the nearest clones are 200 miles from me (hell, the nearest "rec" dispensary is over 110 miles - and they don't have clones...). What's your best suggestion for an online site to try ordering? I have a couple of ZskittleZ from Amsterdam I'm hoarding until the bugs are 100% gone...
