Hey. First time grower here. Just checking in to make sure I'm checking all of the boxes from the start.
I'm growing 1 cheese auto and 1 super lemon haze auto from Cannuck seeds. Went right to pots (5gallons with promix HPM no alterations) after germination and we're now on day 8. First feeding with nutes today (GH flora series cut back to half for eventual drain to waste). Not a full feeding, just a cup around the plants. I'm happy with how things are going so far. The cheese was growing with a bit of a bend, but I've got some fans on them now from high up, just to give a light breeze to strengthen them up a bit. I've been keeping the tent at a pretty stable 25 degrees and the rh around 70% with a slight drop at night.

Here's my question.

New 2020 Phlizon 1000watt (100wt) LED with samsungs..
The lights are currently 32" from the plants, running at 80% intensity on an 18hr schedule. To me, they don't look like they're too stretched or taking in too much light or heat, but alot of places I read are recommending the lights to be close and at low intensity. I figure it's better to ask now than later.

I'd love to hear any thoughts, questions or recommendations!!

Cheers!

Oh for sure. I understand the energy vs light output just wasn't sure how I should write it down in the thread. just by looking at the seedlings, should I worry about light intensity at this stage? I'm happy with the way the tent is right now. Just don't want to burn the little guys.

To easy everyone goes by actual power used. 3ft will be plenty if they get a bit of stretch you should just drop it half a foot, I use an ir heat gun to check my canopy to make sure its at the right temp and the light is the right height.

hello buddy

I only use LEDs I have 5 different LEDs all between 100-132W actual wattage. I keep them 18-24" from the top of my plants. Even my seedlings. Ive never had stretch. Never had bleaching or light burn. And when they get into flowering you can actually keep your 100W LEDs 12-18" above your canopy.

Another tip, if you put a fan under your plants canopy and blow cool air from your intake up at the canopy it will help lower LST if its getting to high.

I have 1 big plant in flower currently, I have 2 1000W (110W) Giixer LEDs and 1 bloomspect 600W(132W) above her about 16" from the canopy. And with my setup full blast my LST never goes above 80⁰

Should I be worried about this colouring or am I overthinking it? Haha

Update**
Day 13 from seed and I'm pretty happy with how things are going thus far. They each got a small dose of flora series early this week (drain to waste) and a little flush yesterday. Now I'm just trying my hardest not to fuck with them when I'm bored. Haha.

Hey there. Any chance you could help me out?
I was giving the tent a mist and I noticed this marking, and I'm curious if I should do anything about it. Otherwise, I feel like the plant has been coming in great and I haven't had any other causes for concern. Thoughts?

Don't worry atm. Young plants grow weird a lot of the times. So many deformities & mutations its insane.

Also, don't mist them much. Ive never misted my plants. Ive heard bad things about misting plants. Some good. But more bad.

Happy growing!

I also have this light for my 2x4x6 tent growing 2NLs and 1WW autoflowers. Started them in jiffy pellets but saw them stretching so I repotted into solo cups with coco coir. I am getting ready to replant one more time into 3 gallon fabric pots. These lights don't give a lot of info but if I go by the chart on the paper that came with it, it says to go from seedling 60% to 100% for veg and bloom. Can that be right?
I did lower the light when I put the plants in the cups and they seemed to respond better to that
I am new to this but loving the hobby and watching them grow.
thanks for your time

Keep your light about 18" from the canopy at ALL TIMES. Maybe move closer during flower.

Thank you for the reply. So going to 100% for both veg and bloom is ok, or should I step it up 80% for veg 100% bloom?
Thank you for all your help. I've stumbled this far without a problem but the settings for the light have me confused.

Why when growing indoors did you choose to grow Auto Flowers? Kinda stepping on your toes growing Autos they are usually hard to learn off and inconsistent at best.

I thought they would be the easiest to learn the basics and then move on to something different.
If I killed these (which I heard was hard to do) then I could improve on the next grow.
Yes I agree they are inconsistent as these are behind what others say about what they 'should' look like and what stage they should be at.
Also not sure why I bought this light as it looked good for the closet I'm growing in. I thought each stage the light would increase by 20% until at flower it would be at 100%.
Steel toed slippers, don't worry about stepping on my toes. I appreciate all the help I can get!
