Finally moving out of the closet lol, Got a room to work with. Just some random ideas thread.

Hey hey RIU any and all comments appreciated even the negative lol. So my room is 13 and a half by 11 and a half with a small closet. I'm pretty excited to tell you the truth. I never thought I would come out of that small closet lol. I have a couple of supplies from previous grows. I'm going to try and use as much of the stuff I have as possible since I have to stretch my dollar on a super low budget.

Some of my stuff

3x3 Tent
600 Watt HPS/MH
8inch Vortex
GH Flora Series Nuts
6inch Carbon Filter
Some Timers/Plugs/TDS Meters/ PH up PH down/ PH Strip kit (Old probably have to replace) / Random Stuff


So with my very limited Budget of 900 maybe a lil more I was thinking about kicking it real old school and buying about 2-3k worth of HPS lights off of CL or something. I really wanted some nice LED's for maybe 400 to 600 but I don't think I can swing it. The HPS is initially cheap and effective as hell right? Of course after a couple of harvests I'll upgrade but I have to work with what I have now. That's life lol.

As far as the Tent situation goes I'm thinking about just making the 3x3 my Moms/Veg tent and upgrading to a 8x4 or 8x8 (I have seen some for like 300, I don't have Gorilla Grow Tent money). I know I won't have enough money to properly light up an 8x8 but I'll grow into it lol. I have the room why not just go for it.

Again I wanted to grow quality Dro, but I don't know if I have 300 for the water chiller and the rest of the setup (Pumps etc). I was thinking about getting a bags of Hempy/Perl/CoCo and just growing with that using the GH Nutes. I know that's the cheapest possible growing but I'm just trying to find out where the 900 could best spent. As for Genetics I was just gonna go by Stainly for Clones because I don't want to waste time going through packs looking for keepers. I'm not the best grower so I want something more error proof. I was just gonna go with a flood and drain with some clones lol but maybe Hempy would be the way to go.

I know there are soooo many different possibilities and combinations but I'm just trying to find the best way to spend my money to get the most I can get. What do you think? What would be most needed?

I'm thinking Quality Veg Light/Flower Tent/ More light for my 600w/Genetics/ The rest is up in the air lol.

Any tips/advice would be appreciated Thanks.

Yup. I would definitely hold on the LED until you can afford to do it right. Meanwhile grab some HPS lights and get cracking. lol

Hempy sounds good, cheap and effective. I love GH nutes, you will do well with those.

How do you plan to cool the room and control humidity? Are you going to vent? Is odor control a critical thing for your location?

As for Genetics I was just gonna go by Stainly for Clones because

If you're going to grow hydroponically, you'll need a quality pH and EC meter. Bluelab makes an excellent combo meter. Yes, it's a couple hundred bucks. If you want quality results you need quality tools. DO NOT SKIMP ON YOUR METER.

Now for the tough questions; what are your goals? Maxing out your output, or something else? What about limitations? Do you care about your plant count? What about your surroundings? Are you concerned if people smell it?

For a beginner at scaling up, I'd look hard at flood tables. You don't want to run anything finicky and flood tables are pretty robust. No chiller needed.

Right? Especially pH meters. I typically avoid combo meters, I just don't like to lose both if a meter dies. Bluelab is definitely a good manufacturer.

I love me some flood and drain, especially for SoG grows where we aren't concerned with plant counts. For growing trees though I don't care for tables but ebb and grow buckets are a good way to do flood and drain with trees.

Hey Renfro, Yea Hempy/HPS/GH is some poor poverty womans entry level growing lol. We all have to start somewhere and if it works it works lol.

Umm the Grow will be in the house so I was gonna vent up to the attic. For the humidity I have no idea I was just gonna buy a humidifier lol.

The odor control is not gonna be too critical for me. I have a lil house on a half acre in the country. The house can stink if need be but I don't know about just putting up Panda film and making the whole house/neighborhood reek. My state is not legal so I gotta be careful.

I was just gonna go through Strainly for Clones, Maybe from Pink Box since they have pretty good reviews from the Strainly thread. I rather deal with clones right now then growing from seed. Although I have been wanting a Pack of Thug Pug or Cannarado seeds. Fire in every pack so I heard.

Ummm the Power is the confusing part for me. My amp box on the side of the house says it's a 150 amp breaker. That was also another reason I thought maybe the Hempy's would be a good fit. I have no idea how much Power I really have and wanted to use less power just to be sure but I have no idea.

Yea I have heard Bluelab is the king of kings of the meter world. Well worth the money. Hydro is not cheap I'm thinking I'm gonna wait for a couple of harvests to invest.

Just put a good sized fan and filter in the room as a scrubber recirculating the room air. If you can have enough scrubbing CFM to process the volume of the room every 2 minutes or better then you shouldn't smell it standing in the room. Phat and Phresh make the only carbon filters I will buy. I have some that are 8 years old and still going strong.

You should be very careful. If a meter man for the power company or someone smells it and reports you then all sorts of shit can go wrong for you. Maintain stealth at all costs. Take odor control very seriously. I have a buddy doing a 25 year stint because a power company meter reader narced on his place. They swapped out his old school platter style power meter with a smart meter that can basically graph out the power usage showing the 12 on / 12 off cycle. The power company employee got a $10k reward after the bust. This was in Missouri.

Alright, I have the Rebel Vortex 8inch that's 728 cfm. I'll make sure to match it appropriately and spend the extra cash for the Phat and Phresh. .

I don't know... Either 20amp or 15 to the room (It isn't labeled). Ac/Oven/Water heater all have like 40/50/60 (They are labeled) I was just gonna work with whatever I can. I can use some extension cords to the room if need be. The electrical part is where I get lost.

Wow that is SCARRRRYYYY. From everything I have read here I would say 80% of People say it doesn't matter as long as you don't steal power and pay up the electric company is making money off of you and not to worry they don't care. If meter people are getting 10k to snitch on Weed... Lord.... Sorry for your friend. I'm gonna be extra careful for sure.

What you need to do is figure out which receptacles match up to which circuits in the breaker. There "should" be a diagram in your breaker box, but often there is not. Once you know exactly which circuit powers which receptacles, determine how many amps you have connected to that circuit. For example, is your computer on the same circuit? Then, figure out how many amps/watts your grow will use. For the typical 15 amp circuit, you should only use 80% of the total amps available, so keep your power usage on that circuit to 1200 watts or less. Move some of your electric gear to other circuits if you go over that number.

That grow produced 8 pounds every 20 days. We used a SoG flood and drain setup so the plant count was 600 in flower plus another 200 rooted clones and 5 mother plants. WAs it some sorta massive king pin operation? No. The plant count was high enough to make LEO soil their cum stained under britches with excitement. I am sure they felt like they were saving the world SMH. Fucking idiots.
