PGR Weed

In nor-cal most of the big legal growers around here use paclobutrazol then use "uber re-cover" the uber re-cover will make it so the pgr chemical won't show up when they test the product. Then they can still sell on the legal market. A lot of black market people do the same thing. The uber re-cover also brings back the quality, (won't look like shitty super hairy pgr weed) actually will look super great quality. It's a pretty fucked up greed fueled system they got.

The entire cannabis industry is being taken over by slick salesmen, unscrupulous players, and big business. When they see a bunch of stoners they see dollar signs. They have people paying $25 for 0.25¢ worth of cheap fertilizer, $20 for a seed, etc... It's not hard to get people to smoke weed sprayed with all kinds of junk. Give it some cool sounding name that includes cake or berry and it's the latest fire on the market. It's just ridiculous.

True that mate. You only have to sift through the waffle on their websites describing their seeds!! Tall and branchy = better trim the fek out of her. Compact and ideal for warm climate = nest of mould. I especially love when they say "floral notes" or "sandalwood" or some rubbish FFS!! Its big business and as it gets bigger, the sharks are circling!!

Yea they also seem to sell brix +, which is basically microplastics you dip your weed in for it to gain more weight. Not only is not smoking plastics good ever, but im pretty sure that the crap they use in this is even the type of plastics that disrupt hormonal systems(its been many years since i looked into it). You know the type of stuff that make frogs and fishes hermie and cause infertility and all that good stuff.

Im sure that the PGR has some other proper uses, but this brix crap is being produced only to poison weed for little extra profits. I do think that PGRs like that should not be readily available, but i get why they exist since they are likely used for other stuff in horticulture. They should be sold under license, which im sure is the case in most countries.
PGR should only be used on plants that are not to be consumed, pgr causes cancer, only decent one is tricantonal, organic plant growth regulator without the cancer. Pgr is mainly used to stop trees growing tall and wide into powerlines.

I think what people are referring to PGR's used, at least here in Aus they are referring to Plant Growth Retardents subclass of PGR's such as paclobutrazol and chloremequat chloride.

I dont go into the shops much nowadays but when I first moved to LA about 5 yrs ago, id say 1/2 of the shops in the city were shitty PGR hydro that all tasted the same regardless of strain. Pretty sure they were all controlled by some criminal enterprise bc as soon as one location got busted they would just reopen 2 blocks away the next week.

Most of that seems to have disappeared once recreational got passed. At first all the unlicensed shops were just selling either bootleg legit brands or in a lot of cases its just herb that failed pesticide tests for the legal market. Eventually they did mass raids and there are none left near where I live in West LA. Used to be at least 10 in a 2 mile radius. Now there like 4 legit shops in that same area, and a bunch of delivery only services.

However I wouldnt put your faith into legalization solving everything.. herb on the legal market doesn't seem to be full of PGRs, but for the most part its 4-6 months post harvest old just bc of supply chain slowness. Sometimes you can find fresh real high grade but for most of the herb they sell in shops is pretty bad and overpriced. Theres some decent light dep greenhouse herb that sells for about half of what the indoor sells for.

I am all about promoting people growing their own. That is the only way we will have any say or control going forward.
You’re 100% right. And the one dispensary I do like in the West Hollywood area is BARC. it’s off san Vicente

if its just for your own consumption, that is pretty gross but to each their own.

if you are planning to sell that just so you can make more money? that is fucked up. your gonna give people cancer. this shit needs to stop.
Please post something stating that it’s proven to cause cancer. I’ve looked but haven’t found any proof. I’d recover can allow samples to pass that means it was removed so how can someone catch cancer?

You are literally saying you want to use a banned substance, and then add something else to cover it up.

Seriously you couldn't find any info? All i just did was search "Pgr cancer" on Google. This was like the 3rd result.

"Chemically-derived PGRs are known to cause cancer, infertility, poison the liver and are classified as environmental pollutants. In the late 1980’s the Environmental Protection Agency banned the use of several PGRs because it was estimated that the exposure to these PGR’s could result in a cancer risk 240 times greater than considered acceptable by E.P.A. It is important to note that these PGRs were made illegal in the food industry, yet the cannabis industry had flown under the radar when it comes to illegal use of PGR’s."

Please don't use PGRs.

This article is contradictory. It states that it’s know then it states that they were banned because they were ESTIMATES that the exposure COULD result in a cancer risk. I’m highly invested in a large grow and need something that can help me yield more. There’s large companies using this and I’m supposed to be able to compete?

Come on you know its wrong. You are trying to find fallacy to support the answer you want to find. There is zero evidence either way about what happens when people smoke PGRs because we can't study it. Its on you to prove it wont cause cancer. People have been using herb safely for thousands of years. Now because you want to get rich off of it you are going to cut corners. You aren't doing whats best for peoples health you are doing whats best for your pocket.

Im a medical user myself. My son is a medical user who faces severe daily chronic pain. Some of my best friends rely on cannabis to literally stay alive. You don't know how that stuff is going to affect someone with a compromised immune system. I'm sorry you may face a financial loss, or not make as much money as you were hoping, but there are people that depend on that herb for their medicine and using that crap is going to put lives at risk.

Theres lots of ways to compete with major producers. Focus on the high end quality product instead of chasing the race to the bottom. You are never going to win that. How are you going to compete when Marlboro hits the market?

Based on your username I will appeal to you on a matter of faith. Please read Mark 8:36 and get back to me.

You're supposed to compete with quality. You'll never make a burger as cheap as mcdonald's but surely you can make one that tastes better?

Like he said they are using recover so they’re getting the benefits of the pgr without quality loss. They’re growers out here getting three lbs a light. I can barely get two and now I see the reason why.
