Will it grow?

Hello everyone. About a week ago I found a bag seed in a bag of weed I bought. I thought why not try it and started the germination process and followed the best guides online. Everything has been going perfect so far and according to websites, the behaviour is normal. I am using a regular side bed light bulb and just put water in it when the soil feels a tiny bit dry. I don't have any experience what so ever. For the past days though it looks like it's growing a little tall. About 2-2.5 inches off ground and the leaves haven't really opened up yet. Is this normal or does it mean it isn't getting enough light? I am using soil I picked from my garden as well. Does this little one have a chance or should I throw away?

Read above, I thought oh I can just throw a bit of light on it it will be okay, it's an expensive hobby, if you smoke it or not, you will need to put your hands in your pocket, what's the size of the space you are going to grow in.

Yeah it is, isn't it. I am starting to realise it. I am also looking for the most discreet way to do it as I live in a shared house with another 2 people that don't agree with stuff like that. I am only a smoker so I a small pot that maybe get me like 10-15 grams would be fine and I want to keep it as organic as possible that's why I don't want to get like nutrients and stuff like that and try to feed it water only. Maybe I'll invest in a small grow tent.

this will be difficult during flower. discretion is expensive compared to nutrients, a carbon filter can be done DIY but will be noticeable, search for small micro grows perhaps inside a computer case or old fridge or dressers

honestly if you have more seeds I'd start a new one side by side since odds are they won't all be female anyway . start the new one in soil with added perlite (i like 30%) only water in small amounts around in a circle

I only have this single one but I am thinking of ordering some good ones like autoflowering ones
start with photo periods you need the extra veg time to learn, autos need excellent conditions from the get go to be efficient yielders, perhaps get a pack of fems and you'll get an auto as a freebie then you can see if you like them

I grow because I Love growing, and I run my grows like a business. The time and money spent to grow 10-15 grams just doesn’t compute to me. I also believe to each their own and wouldn’t discourage you. I like that the itch is growing in you to jump into something that interests you. If you wanted a no money, high discretion grow. My advice would be make the call right now how committed you are to this. If yes, open your wallet and go for it. If no. Open your wallet buy some good smoke and daydream

I mean. If people in the household won't agree to it, I will respect their opinion and wait till I have my own place. I have to respect their opinion as well because at the end of the day this is their home as well and I don't want to damage relationships in here. I'll keep enjoying for now and daydream as you said. I wanted to ask, how long can it take for the seed to come out of soil from the point it it's put in the soil as a seed? Because this morning I notice the leaves are opening up but it doesn't look right. Take a look, would there be a chance that this big one isn't my seed and is something else that was in the soil and my seed is that tiny one next to it?

Seedlings need very little light. I planted this Critical Purple Kush seedling about 2 weeks ago and as you can see she is sitting under just 2 cheap 40W CFLs and doing just fine, begging to be put under the big light.

You CAN grow a few ounces easily with a cheap 100W CFL and a box with some PC fans and basic airflow. You won't grow great top shelf weed and you won't get a huge yield but you will get a few ounces of decent weed off of a plant, and if that's all you are after don't listen to other ppl on this forum who will insist you need this and that and more. There are a lot of elitists around :(

Woahh!! This looks beautiful! Would you be able if the picture above is normal? The one before your reply? I don't know I am getting worried that the big thing growing isn't my seed and is something that was found in the soil and happen to grow.

It's blurry to me, or maybe I'm just high but a better pic pls?

Mostly listen to what everyone else has told you though, invest like $10-$20 on some decent soil/soiless. Plant another 1 or 2 (or 3, how many seed do you have?) because 50% will be male anyways.

What light do you have the seedling under right now?

Also some good places you should look to learn to grow are Jorges Cervantes, 'indica institue' on youtube, or Dr. Bruce Bugbee on youtube also has lots of relevant info on lights.
