Is 60% enough?

Where do u get the equipment u need for that? Looked into it and there were a whole list :o
I was only doing a small amount but here's what I used/needed.
1) metal flask/vacuum/thermos
2) 3x tins of London butane (high purity)
3) A piece of wood that fits over the flask mouth with 2x 2/3mm holes drilled in it.
4) A bunch of trim!

Put the trim into the flask place the piece of wood over the mouth and use one of the holes to spray in the butane, drill it to a size so it acts like a clipper lighter, the 2nd hole lets out the pressure without spraying condensed gas everywhere.

Once it's in the flask there's no pressure issues you shake it do whatever you won't get pressure.
BUT REMEMBER IT,S HIGHLY FLAMMABLE AND EXPLOSIVE!!!
after 10/15 ime pour it through a coffee filter and let the gas evaporate, heat/cool a couple of times to purge any water/gas and you are left with a dark oil.
Best of luck.

I'm sure you are aware but I need to say it...
Remember its dangerous you don't want to have your head up your arse doing it, Remember butane is denser than air so it can easily fill voids in floor, Remember a light switch or fridge thermostat can/will cause a spark!
Just be careful.

Holy damn, I like ur ways! Thx for the recipe and tips. That list is manageable and sounds easy and efficient. Ill be careful and do it with a clear head in a ventilated space.
When I remove the wood and the thermos is wide open, it will stay liquid? I'll Google this some more.

Yes it'll stay liquid but it is evaporating slowly, sort of like petrol would evaporate.

Edit... Once the gas is in you can screw the cap back on the flask without any significant pressure build up inside.

Ur 100% sure if I left it there for x hours, it still wouldn't happen?
This sounds kinda perfect, if it's easy to get it all out and have a clean product.

Sorry I forgot to add,
You can sit the catch bowl in some hot water to speed up the evaporation when you pour through the coffee filter, you can also put tin foil over the bowl so when you are done you don't loose any to the bowl.

I'll do that.
Is it lighter gas boxes u buy or camping gas boxes? Tried look up the brand u mentioned and looks like it.
Do I need 100% butane or does this work with butane/propane mix?
Saw alot of products, not too sure what is pure enough for the task? Ur product said nearly 0 impurities but the ones I find here have around 98% butane.
This whole topic is overwhelmingly new to me. How pure is pure enough? Will most of liquid petroleum gasses work or do I need something specific?

I'm sorry I've only scratched the surface on it myself I'm unable to answer your questions accurately.

I was buying tins that you would use to refill a lighter, but for the different types and mixes I don't know for sure you would need to research it I'm afraid.

No worries thanks for info given. I have been googling and will continue but as mentioned it is overwhelming.
Maybe u know this one: can mix contain isobutane?
If u have any links with good info feel free to share them :bigjoint:

I'm sorry I've no info it's been a few years since I've made it.
I've had a look for low impurity butane it's readily available on this side of the pond from ebay, try searching ebay/amazon for low impurity or by this brand name?

Some links.

I suggest contacting your local science supply store for the 200%. It is still available and legal where drinking liquor over 60% is proscribed, just not for drinking.

I don't drink alcohol except on special occasions like a wedding but I still think distilling alcohol would be an interesting hobby?

See what I done... "I still think" lol thank you I'll be here all week!

Actually found science ethanol 96% (190 proof?) but they weren't allowed to sell it to private customers or companies, only public schools and such. I'm telling u some of the laws here is fucked up.
But I found some 100% butane canisters online, thinking on ordering some. First gonna check if the brand is sold locally but if not its np, no borders to cross.

I was thinking if you can purge isopropyl alcohol from oil any type of gas would be a breeze?
If you research purging canabis oil you might find some helpful info.

Thx I'll try Google it. Been reading about different techniques and it sure seems easier/faster to use butane and end up with a good safe result. The gas I found is 99.9994% butane.
If I had some 190 proof, tincture would be the way. Gonna do that later on when I've researched and gathered supplies to make it myself.
