Cheap quality soil for seedlings?? Kellogg’s patio plus??

I suggest a stater mix over the counter mixed 50/50 with coco coire for the first 3 weeks. Then your Kellog cut by 30% with coco coire and 5% starter mix. . Water from the stem base until a month old. Prevents nute stress.

Ok I’m a noob so Starter Mix is just any soil labeled starter mix? Then mix that 50/50 with coco for first 3 weeks. And water from stem base means only water the central location of plant, not watering the outsides bc that makes the nutes come out more??

You want organic seed starter if possible. Just a very light airy mix. Coco adds structure and water retention. Yes water from stem. Water pushes away from the seedling. Diluting nutes that the plant does not need and may not handle well. Then continue for the first week or two after transplant to soil mix. You can put a plug of 50/50 coco starter in cut soil soil to grow without transplant. PH is going to be your issue of concern. Start with 6.0. And get a pen if you don't have one.

I appreciate your help n I know your only talking the way u do bc your probably a seasoned grower, but I am not. Your wording is kind of confusing. What exactly do I need to put into a solo cup to begin seedling stage?
Organic starter mix I got that, now do I add coco for solo cup in beginner seedling stage, should I add perlite? I will need to plant them tomorrow, so for now all I need to know is what to put in solo cup that would yield good results for a couple weeks until I can get happy frog shipped to me to transplant into from solo cup. I do plan on using GH lineup for nutes later down the road. I also have a ph and ppm pen.

I know the difference, it’s just what’s available to me locally I have a problem with. And if I could I would like to use them in conjunction. Just too broad to research the info I need so I’m asking u guys.

Sorry. Not good at conveying thoughts. 50/50 mix. If needed. Use 70coco/30 kellog. Get a ph pen and water at 6.0 PH just till moist.

Straight coco or Peat moss/Perlite mix works good for seedlings.

If you are super tight on money you can use Osmocote plus time release fertilizer. Used to be a popular method back in the day. Just mix some in the coco or peat moss/perlite mix and use plain water.

What do u mean by 50/50 if needed, I don’t know how to tell what’s needed yet. 70/30 understood. I have a ph and ppm pen.

Appreciated. Is sta-green good coco to use?
