I was planning on soaking my Blueberry seeds (x 2) in glass of water for 24hrs & then placing it in paper towel but the seeds hatched whilst in the glass (a small taproot is visible) so I placed them in soil and then added approx 10ml-15ml drops of water from the top of the soil and then covered the pot (10cm x 10cm) in cling film (saran wrap) to increase humidity. Its in a small chamber in temps of 24C & humidity at 45%

As you can tell I dont know how to water the seeds/seedlings but I need to know what is the ideal way of preparing the soil for the hatched seeds & also will my method have any effect. Hopefully the pics below will give you an idea of my watering method.

Any suggestions/comments?

Soak them for 24hrs and plants them. You are just fine. Thats what you should have done. No matter what they look like after 24hrs plant them. The soil should have perlite/vermiculite for air.

I suggest a pre-mix. If your not up to speed on nute requirements and Ph levels. Go with a Fox Farm brand or something. Save you a lot of hassle.

Will it prevent or stunt growth if I do not add it (Im planing on transplanting this in to a larger pot which will grow up to me a mum thats when Il add the perlite or vermiculite)? And which brand or type would you recommend

you should just watter 1 time with 8-10 oz of water then not again untell your plant has sprouted and grown for 2 weeks. and add 1/2 tablespoon of h2o2 hydrogen peroxide per liter to prevent root rot. especialy if you dont add perlite. beacuse not having good airation in soil spells desaster. and non fertalizer in the soil for the first month. except for a vitimin suplement like superthrive. and your plants are young enough to take out and plant in new soil with perlite and/or vermiculite.

yeah pre mix no nutes
and pre wet the soiless before planting
I keep that in mind but this is my first time and I planted the seeds first & then watered once yesterday (only 10ml-1ml) & again today would that kill the seed or slow growth?

did you pre moist the soil, making sure it was evenly moist

if this was done you need only water 1 to 2 times per week
depending on envierment
more plants die from over watering and kindness than not enuff water:hump:

I dont understand the last sentance. I do have superthrive ready but I should use it when?

Thanks for help

I water very little yesterday & today some parts of the soil look dry so I watered again today but from the bottom of the pot so when the soil stops absorbing the water I know when its had enough but can this method and not using perlite or vermiculite have any bad effects at this moment on the
seed?

i sugest using pro-mix, it is already mixed with pearlite and all the good shit, as for preparing the soil to plant the seeds, i put soil in a bucket and spray with water and stir non stop until the soil is wet all around then i place my seeds in and mist the top a few times a day and it always worked 100% success for me

No, I placed the soil straight from the bag to the pot then water with a measuring syringe, are the seeds doomed?

you're fine, just let the seedlings sprout, then once they are all sprouted you can worry about transplanting them into better soil... just leave them alone for a couple of days!
