T5 lighting system

im thinking about trying T5 lighting for vegging. im going to build a box around whatever light i end up getting. will someone please help me out.

Check this site (RIU) it has some lighting ads.. at HTG supply you can get it (2 X 22" with hanger/reflect) about $69... plus if you must use them for flower they have red spectrum replacement bulbs cheap..I'd say veg with T5 and flower with HPS..luck.

ya i have an hps that i used on my last grow. i plan on making a box to fit the light and probably stick with the T5 all the way one time. of course changing bulbs for flower. Has anyone grown both cycles all the way under T5?

Yes. Mix the bulbs red and blue start to finish, nothing less than an 8 bulb 4' fixture if your planning to flower with it. VV

make sure (if using 4' strips) you make it 5 foot by whatever because of the extra space for plugs on the side of those light bars, unless your gonna rip em appart and shit. the little things are the hardest ones..

i just got a t5 24w 6500k 2' bar and it's pretty nice..
o i was thinkin about trying t5 all the way to see, this is my first grow (not much space)

I started my plants with a 2' 2 bulb t5 fixture from htgsupply.com

I soon realized this light was slowing everything down!

I then purchased two 2' 2 bulb t5 fixtures. These fixtures have a 4' tube that is literally bent in half (kinda like a horse shoe) they each produce 10,000 lumens and are 100watts.

I have been flowering for 4 weeks now and far as I can tell everything is fine!

I will be doing one more grow under these t5's before I make the jump to a 400w HPS.

those t5's that are 4' bent 100w are what K like 2700 or 3000?

Using 3000k for flowering, had the 6400k in for flowering...

Does the PL-55 Tek Lamp produce alot of heat? I've considered using it for some supplemental lighting, but not if its going to make things much warmer.

Not much at all..tbh which it produced some more...my lights have been on for 4 hours right now and temp wont go above 72 =O...and i have a small pc fan for intake/exhaust...

The temp of your grow is 72?? Isn't that kinda low?? But fuck you grew that with floro tubes!!! Holy shit dude nice job...
