January flowering

Was wondering if anyone has put plants out to flower in january and if so how did it work out and did u get to harvest before night hours change? im in S.Caifornia

I do it every winter here in NW Florida. This year the cold has fucked me up, but most of the time only about half of my crop gets killed. The weaker sunlight means lighter buds, but they will flower. According to your light hours, they will reveg if left out too long in spring. The first sign of reveg is white hairs. You can go a couple weeks past that, but you need to harvest before the shoots start coming out of the buds. Last year I cut off the buds and left the plants to reveg. Some of them did pretty good, going all the way to a full season harvest. Others died of old age before they flowered in the fall. But at that point you are playing with house money.

should be alright, just less light and lower temp. here june 10th is the earliest anyone should put outside in my area.

It just all depends on the area's usual weather. How low are the lows at night on an average you think?

Edit: I don't think going from hot indoor conditions to anything more than a 30 degree difference is good.
I have only read some things.. not much about outdoor growing. I do indoor only.

My response is based off of what I would worry about. Pests also.

My response is based off of what I would worry about. Pests also.

Less pest issues during the winter for outdoor grows.

The issues are that the plant slows to a crawl almost frozen in time when it goes below 50 degrees.

The sunlight issue is time. Come April we are looking at already having 12.5 hours of sunlight. Come may that jumps to 15.

So when we look at the slower growing time due to cold weather matched with limited flowering light schedule.... Beginning flower in January become a risky proposition imo.
