It’s in a plastic container and the bigger plastic aswell. i shud have put more holes in plastic. Any advice on how not to overwater in soil ? I going all fabrics next run
Yeah fabric pots are a bit of a game changer tbh. Plenty of holes.... you can always pot up to a larger fabric pot now

Autos tho. And there are already struggling now
Water by weight. Whether soil or peat. Wait until the container is light before watering. Leaf droop doesn’t indicate it needs water. When the stem that leaf is on starts bending then it’s probably thirsty.

When you first transplant and before adding any liquids pick up the container several times. Get the feel of it. Then water properly. Pick it up and feel it. Get into the habit of doing this to prevent overwatering.

I am a first time grower but I feel like that’s exactly what I have Been doing I even weighed them at start. I feel my problem is drainage Cuz fabric ones ok that’s the plastic one and it only has one drain hole at bottom with 4 others on bottom sides if that makes sense I shud of made more or just went all fabrics but wanted to see difference. But Iam a rookie and will take advice from people like u guys that have succeeded in growing already I don’t even have 1 under belt. Thanks for all advice and will take more if have.

U mind if I ask a few follow up questions. First is that the only dif in the HP and BX ( Cuz compact was one thing I red I didnt like ) Second i Also red that u hafta prep (air out) mix like this or maybe that was straight peat moss so can u go from bag to solo cup to pot ? And can I mix more perlite if I wanted to ? And last is there a specific nute line u reccomend or which u use ?
You dont have to do anything to it except water it. You could add perlite but i think thats overkill. Personally. I use emerald harvest and cyco depends what i have on hand
But i use an in the mom room cause i get it for free ;)

Will adding perlite hep with oxygen to roots cuz autos behave some extra and may add some to it if it helps and cuz I paid for it. Lol. I use fox farm now and I don’t have to feed for first 4 weeks due to soil has the nutes. Is pro mix and sunshine 4 mix need to be fed right away cuz naked or does it last a certain way one like fox farm

Theres already alot of perlite in it but you can add more if you like. It wont hold as much water tho you may need to water more depend on how much you mix in20210206_101154.jpg
Personally i dont like fabric pots. They dry out too fast. I tried one last run and that plant yeiled half of what the others did. Just my opinion tho.

Coarse vermiculite works well in Promix HP. It adds a a fair amount of aeration while still having good water retention.
I started added it after I read some a Dr. Bugbee's research. It also contributes silicon to the media which I like.

Can u tell me why u choose this type (peat) of soilless medium over coco ? Or even just soil (like fox farm or something else similar ) ?

Coco too much bullshit lotsa waste. Have to water to runoff.... Just too much hassel. Plus my buddy is always dealing with bugs in his coco. I duno if they come with it or what. Just not my thing. Been using pro mix since i started. Just works for me
Fox farm soil too inconsistant. Comes hot easy to burn plants. Bought it before came with gnats.

No prob

Any media youre gona want to ph the water. If you stay around 6.5 you're golden with pmix
I haven't used sunshine mix as i believe its sold in the states. As far as i know its the same idea as promix. If you are new, its a fairly easy media to use and get used to. Once you get a bit of exp you can try other things like coco or whatever

I have autos in fox farm ocean Forrest ( have u ever used ). I was ph ing my water and it messed up my plants then a few growers on here that used it said that if I ph water to 6.5 before it gets buffered it’s not good. And now I give ph of 8 (tap water) and things got better. Apparently no need to check ph in soil at all as growers have told me. They all say ph is for coco hydro and soiless ? But Iam new at it all
