So when should i start using dr.earth dry amendments and areated teas . Its been two days since i transplanted into ocean forest so i know i got 3-4 weeks till i top dress with dr.earth right?

How and when would i use teas ??
Can i use teas as of right now, after transplanr or week after?
Simple tea recipe for veg?
Can i top dress and water in with a tea after 3-4 weeks ?

These are main questions, im trying to stick to top dressing and teas .

I'm a newb too but I can tell you what's working for me.. Just FFOF + Dr Earth top dressing. No ph checking, no teas.

For me I did seed in 5 gallon pot of FFOF. 5 tbsp Dr Earth 4-6-3 tomato at start of week 4. 5 tbsp Dr earth bloom 3-9-4 at start of week 5... Done.
I do spray epsom salt on the leaves one night every week too.

Here's my grow:

As far as FFOF as host medium ......

You have a number of ways to feed .....

1. You can Top dress FFOF at specific intervals and simply water in ( 6.5-6.7 )

2. or Use Dr. Earth dry fertilizer / scratched into top soil then watered in. I run 1 tablespoon per gallon.
3 - 5 gallon i run between 2-4 tablespoons. Adjust as needed.

Remember that FFOF is ALREADY NUTE CHARGED and can be “ recharged “ thru top dress and or drenches. Adding multiple nutes on top of this soil , causes imbalances ( assorted npk ratios ) and leads to burns , lock outs and other shit.

This soil always seems to be an issue with growers when the soil alone can do initial feed . LESS is more ... Keep it simple.

Example : You combine nutes and something goes to shit ... how do you determine what did what ?
FFOF will exhaust overtime but can be refreshed by one or other methods ....

Yeah i know to hold on nutes lol just want to be prepared lol .. so u wouldnt suggest using a tea few days after transplant ?
Reason i ask they were a bit yellow going into the ocean forest so i was wondering if i can give them something like a veg/nitrogen tea for the time being / give them a boost.

And which bags of dr.earth should i get all 3?
All purpose
Tomat and herb
Bud and bloom

Or just tomato & bloom one ?

Thanks tho im gonna use your advice as a guide line to get started

Also whats the diffrence between the
Black label dr.eart tomat and veg
And the green one ?

Is the black label geared towards cannabis?

You’re doing it wrong if you’re only using soil and amendments.

Hey buddy, id like to join in on the conversation here. I’m a very new organic grower and it sounds like that’s what you’re interested in. Well, I aced my first time with organics and am never turning back. To answer a few of your questions, I would need to know a couple things.

1.) are you in only FFOF?

2.) what dr earth amendments are you using?

3.) what kind of water are you using?

4.) what size pot did you transplant into?

these 3 questions are very important because it plays a huge role in the organic process.

I’m going to tell you about my experience so far and what I have learned.

first things first, FFOF is great to start in, other than starting in it’s a good base to transplant to. In order to get the full experience of organic gardening you’ll need more than just FFOF and dr earth amendments.

let’s start with the soil mix you should do.

the first pot I transplanted to is a 3g pot. I used FFOF as a base for my soil mix. I used about 1.5g of FFOF, I added 2 quarts of Malibu Compost, 2 quarts of Earth Worm Castings, 4 quarts of plain Perlite (nothing with slow release fertilizer like Miracle Gro). I also added about 4 tablespoons of Dr Earth 4-4-4 all purpose fertilizer.

so now that we have the soil mix out of the way, another important thing is water. I use strictly RO water, nothing else. RO water is pure water, doesn’t need any additives or anything. Using pure water with no chemicals or anything is VERY important with organics.

ok, let’s talk about the organic process lol. I know this is a lot of info, but it’s great to know for the future.

The way organic growing works is very different from using bottled nutrients. Organics is not only simple, but is very efficient. Organics is a beautiful thing if done right! So, for organics to work you need plenty of organic matter in your soil. That’s what the compost, worm castings and dr earth dry amendments is for. The RO water helps support the microbial life (bacteria) in your soil which will break down that organic matter and turn it to usable nutrients for the plant.

Microbes begin working as soon as you add water. Microbes break down organic matter and turn it to mineral form. These minerals are then attracted to colloids in your soil. These colloids then feed the root zone. This process is called cationic exchange.

it is important not to PH your water, this can not only kill your microbes, but make the soil PH different so it cannot support microbial life. Same with your water. RO water is important, if you can’t get RO water then use filtered water.

Teas

Teas are important, but not as important as you think. I gave my plant 1 compost tea in about 5 months. That’s all she needed. When making tea you’ll need a few things. Of course a bubble stone and bucket, but you’ll need all the organic matter we talked about. Compost, worm castings and dry amendments. I also picked up a bottle of Kellogg’s fish and kelp fertilizer with molasses. The fish and kelp is not only a great source of beneficial bacteria, but a good feed for the microbes.

teas are good because it helps add bacteria to the soil. It is not meant to be a feed for the plant in any way since it does not provide much organic matter. The tea is good for activating your soil! It adds millions of microbes to your soil and will cause a feeding frenzy that allows for quicker breakdown of organic matter and quicker nutrient uptake by your plant.

so. To answer your questions, compost teas are good. You just transplanted do a compost tea will be good. Don’t add too much Dr earth without the compost and worm castings, otherwise it can cook your plant.

This was my first time growing organic cannabis and lemme tell you, it was amazing. Not only did I have the fastest growth I’ve ever seen in my life, but one plant harvested 550g dry. If you have any further questions, feel free to message me or just reply!

enjoy these photos of my last harvest

I’m no expert, but I understand enough to have great results. And what the other guy said, epsom salt is a good foliar feed for sulfur and magnesium.

Do i need to worry about run off ph (soil ph)? i checked my runoff first watering in ocean forest and it was at 5.6.

Whats a good tea recipe since i only used oforest with perlite ?
Something simple/basic would be great

Don’t worry about soil ph any longer. I have never checked my runoff ph and I’ve never worried to. My plant never showed any sign of root zone issues. In fact, my root zone was so tight and compact in a 15g pot it was insane. I couldn’t break it all apart the roots were so dense lol. Just get compost and worm castings when you can. In the mean time, just continue watering with plain RO water. Use 4-4-4 all purpose by dr earth for veg and dr earth 3-9-4 for bloom. In your tea, just bubble some compost, worm castings, and some of the nutrients for that time. If in veg, add a teaspoon, not table spoon of 4-4-4. Same with flower, just the 3-9-4. Add a cup of each other ingredient. Also, try to get some fish and kelp like I said. It’ll help the tea greatly! If you can’t, just buy unsulfered molasses from your grocery store. Bubble for 24 hours covered by a towel. Use immediately after bubbling, don’t store your tea as it will go bad very quickly. If you have left over, foliar feed with it or pour out into any plant of your choosing. If you do this right, in about 2 weeks your 1 gallon pot will be full of roots, ready for transplant!

So i dont need the veg tomato and herb bag for top dressing or should i get all 3bags of dr.earth? Do u mean use the all purpose and bloom for the teas and for top dressing use the 3 bags ?

For the tea:
Compost - 1 cup
Ewc- 1 cup
Veg or bloom - 1 teaspoon
Fish emulsion?- 1 cup
Kelp - 1 cup
Bubble for 24 hours and use right away.

Thank you btw , and to the others for the help .. now i got guide line to go organic which helps me particularly having something basic to follow and build upon it

No you don’t need the herb one for weed. Only 4-4-4 and 3-9-4. Also, only add 1 tablespoon of the fish and kelp fert to one gallon of water. Try to get the fish and kelp in one bottle, not separate bottles. The rest of the ratios are correct though

Does the all purpose contain calcuim or do the other ingredients have it? Reason i asked this youtube "stealth grow" uses the 3 bags cause the all puporse does not contain calcuim and the tomato&herb does .. also whats the diffrence between a fertilizer and compost tea?
Either veg tea or bloom tea depending which i use 4-4-4 or 3-9-4 right?

Tea recipe:
Ro water
Fish and kelp 1 tablespoon
Compost 1 cup
Ewc 1 cup
Veg or bloom 1 teaspon
Bubble for 24 hours

Should i buy the ingredients on amazon or find it in store?
Suggestion for the fish and kelp, compost ? Malibus compost?
Would this be fine for the ewc?

Nitrogen is soluble in water. Just your compost worm castings and 4-4-4 will provide many times the amount of nitrogen you need
