I'm new and have no in-person sounding board. I hesitate to throw away a big plant based on my own limited knowledge.

Is this male?

Sorry for the HPS, figured you'd know based on this pic.

Random nuts I've saved over the years. Now that it's legal in Montana, time to put them to use!

Unfortunately, the regulatory framework hasn't been established, so there is no storefront yet. Next year.

If I had the room, I would. It is a nice strain. I have one more seed from that batch. Fingers crossed.
I was wondering what the consensus was with bagseeds around here. I always do my outdoor summer grows with bagseeds with fantastic results, and the odd plant with poor qualities. But all in all I’ve had some epic bagseed grows since I started

Well, Hero, I can TALK a great deal (lol) because I've been gardening for several years, but I am new to the nuance of MJ. As such, this is my first grow. I have yet to form an opinion on the matter.

But based on what I know about genetics, it's all about the breeding history of the plant the seed came from. I imagine you could get some awesome bag seeds and some crappy "bred" seeds.

Planting seeds from a hybrid pepper plant will be a roll of the dice. Once pepper seeds have been granted heirloom status, they have a much higher chance of growing the same plant the fruit came from. I imagine MJ works the same way.

Interesting take on things. My thoughts were always that S1 seeds were created the same way as bagseeds unless I’m wrong. So by that logic I haven’t been opposed to growing bagseeds at all. We know the OG kush / Chemdawg story, “bagseeds found in a bag of weed obtained at a grateful dead show”. I wanted ThugPug Peanut Butter seeds but couldn’t find them anywhere. I recently found three healthy looking seeds in an oz I got from the plug. I’m supposing it’s a gamble, but aren’t all S1 seeds technically a gamble? Or can a strain be stabilized to a point where S1 stays true to the lineage? Either way I’m totally going to pop these PB Breath seeds lol
