Same here. I don't try to lift my 15 gal pots to test how light they are. That wouldn't be fun at all, lol.
yessir, nice mulch layer helps lots, and im the same, running 15 gal, imo thats the smallest pot id like to run, gives me much more wiggle room as far as top dresses and how they effect microbe shock etc, and with the 15 gal I dont water every day, usually 1 gallon every other day, but if I feel they need something ill give them a little 1-2 quart snack in-between their heavier watering days. sometimes ill water 1.5gal on Friday and let them ride for two days and start the 1gal again on Monday, fuck its always changing lol. do you use grassroots lined 15gal?
It'll take a lot to completely dry the inside of a 5 gallon pot. Maybe the first inch or two are dry but deeper down there's always moisture in the right climate. My next grow I wanna try watering more and see what happens.
No what is grassroots lining? I just use 15 gal plastic pots with a shit ton of holes drilled in the bottom. I also water them every 2 days or so.
even better haha, grassroots is just an expensive fabric pot, I use them rn, but have thought about the cheaper options being just as good.

It's super dry in my grow room and I don't try to bring up the humidity so those dry out super fast here. Shit, it's reading 13% in what you'd call the lung room, and below 10% in my actual veg and flower room right now. And I rarely ever see either room above 10%. No it's not ideal, but I can make it work.
woah and I thought keeping my room at 35-40% the entire grow was low! ive never noticed low humidity issues
Definitely needs more water, and we could probably be more prone to overfertilizing, but I'm making it work. It would be nice to have a little more humidity, but since I'm constantly venting outside it's kind of pointless.
Yeah this could be why the smaller pots in my set up require so much water, I’ve had a heavy hand in the past with the teas and was a learning curve but have recently stopped all teas and just top dress (I do give them rootwise so that’s a tea I guess)
Same here. My first time I did teas every time. But that was a lot of work. I haven't made a tea in way over a year. Now I'm trying just to top dress and use plain water. I don't have it figured out fully yet, but I'm getting closer. I just need to be more proactive and top dress more often. I'm still using the original FFOF I bought 2 1/2 years ago that's been turned into no-till.

This is true it’s a hard pill for some to swallow for some reason. But really proof is in the pudding. Unless you have auto watering and like 5 blu may carrots in those 7 gallons. The pot will always struggle. And the the rhizophere will suffer. The outer few inches of soil will always dry out too fast. That’s where the delicate roots need to be nurtured not dried and flooded every other day.
