Imo the first problem with government (all of them) is they feel they have the right to determine people’s rights. The second thing is that they say you have the right to..... and then put rules and regs in place to take those same rights away. Consider.... we all have a “right” to water (no one owns it) n yet they charge us for it. And if you think it’s a joke, don’t pay n see if they violate your right to water. And for those who will say it’s the water company.... isn’t that owned by the government ?? Bet they would love to construct a dome n charge us for the air we breath.

What does your little snowflake in the city story have to do with it not being right that in a effort to suppress the minority vote they underfund their voting sites and cause hours long backups to keep the power in the wealthy white neighborhoods who only have to wait minutes to place their votes?


Its a lot easier when you can blend into the background. And the way you say that it almost seems like you think many minorities don't work hard and earn a good middle class lifestyle.

i do want to mention that in florida the wealthy neighborhoods don't get machines either in order to suppress the vote. at least in the dem areas like Broward and Dade. Rick Scott did this in 2012 lines was hours long with three machines. i took mine and drove it 20 miles to Supervisor of Elections and hand it in personally.

I like the constitution, so I don't mind so much about people determining people's rights. The other part is harder with what you're talking about, all the bs which then chips away at those rights. I don't have an answer except to say that none of those bs rules and regs would have been needed if there weren't some assholes out there twisting those rights to screw over others, so we kinda deserve it. Cut yourself with a sharp knife and someone's going to take it away and give you back a dull one. Show us you can handle it correctly and maybe someday you can get it sharpened. So, we just have to deal with our neutered rights for a while(beyond our lifetimes).

Really like your water comments, fuckin-a right we have a right to water. Live rural and drill a well, then you at least have water use rights.

Personally, I am white and have mixed race kids that look as white as anyone. No one needs to fool themselves into thinking racism does not exist. My experience being in "the club of white" has led me to hear, see, and experience overtly racist veiws that are not expressed in the presence of those minorities. It runs deep in society at ALL levels.

In my opinion ONLY discussion and personal responsibility will elicit change. Ignoring bigotry just causes it to fester and slowly infect new generations.

Whether or not this country will hold itself to account for every person within its borders is totally dependent upon how we teach our next generation.

True enough for sure. And as for the race card thing. It’s people that want it around that want to focus on it. Either politically or personally, one to take advantage of the masses the other to complain and demand something they don’t want (equality). I’m a white man and have experienced racism most of my life. And to be honest mostly against white people. And guess what.... I don’t need to focus on it. I tell my son like I was told. Every man woman and child are connected. We are humans.

"no one owns it (water)" da fuck? Wars are fought over water rights. Water rights are absolutely critical to ranches, farms, factories and communities. I have a well on my property but that doesn't mean I can use more than my own rightful share.

What is it you are trying to say? I couldn't get to your point with all the bullshit that was laying on top of it.

Let’s see... opertunities offered to others due to their race and not their abilities for one. And almost everyone has that one. But don’t get me wrong, I mean in a personal it happened to me kinda way. (For your info) Detroit is not a white dominated area of the world my friend. And tons of preconceived bs that is put on me daily because I am white! No I don’t think white people are better than anyone else. And for you or anyone else to assume I do is racism. Do I need to continue?? Let’s be as real as possible at this point as we don’t know each other and I don’t care if you like my answers or opinions. As far as racism goes white people get more credit than we deserve. Most white people couldnt care less about your race. We have been being trained for the last few hundred years to not care. And to not look out for our own race (which all other races do without being called racist)

Fog, you have to think of it from a city perspective. You're not allowed to drill a well in your backyard. You must pay for your water directly, in addition to feeding the general fund. In no way, shape, or form, does water in the city come to your home via rights. It's a product you pay for, but we know as humans, that water is a human right. Reconcile.

And just for you to ponder , where do you live over an aquifer? And if so isn’t it your responsibility to make sure that you don’t use too much? Does the government come out to your property and put in a meter? Are they monitoring just how much water you pull from your well? Being responsible is everyone’s job. It may take us another thousand years to figure that out but hey

I've heard of the county putting meters on wells, but it's only in extreme cases. For the most part there's no such thing as being limited to our own rightful share.

Yes, I live over two aquifers and sunk my well into the deeper one.

It is my responsibility to understand the laws and to stay within them.

It is not monitored by the government and they don't have a meter on it.

They don't monitor how much water I pull. I know how much I pull based upon the capacity of my irrigation system. I sized my system and time the running of my pump to stay within proscribed limits.

I am being responsible. I put in drip irrigation and use less water than I'm entitled to. That's what being a good citizen is all about.
