Like the post says, I opened some brand new packs of seeds and there was a single seed cracked open already in two different packs. None of the other packs I opened up at the same time had this problem and it was more than just a few packs I opened. There's no way it was caused by me. I was very careful with them right on arrival and put them straight into a jar where they stayed safe and they came in vials which seem to protect the seeds, which makes me think they were packaged like this. It was archive rainbow beltz and umami seeds limecai.
Could these seeds still possibly be viable? Maybe I'm being petty complaining about this considering its a single seed in both but it just seems a little messed up how rainbow beltz is 6 for 120 and limecai is 10 for 150 and they include a cracked open seed at those prices? I've opened 3 other packs from archive without this problem and this is my 1st time buying a pack from umami but I just don't understand how seeds like this get thrown in the vial. Where's the quality control for the prices being charged? The prices are high but seem reasonable for the quality they most likely are, but I would expect every seed to be a good seed still. The rainbow beltz cracked seed is particularly disappointing considering that one isn't readily available and never stays in stock very long and only comes with 6 a pack.
Maybe I'm just petty or maybe the seeds are still perfectly growable but I just expected the advertised amount of good healthy seeds. Anyone ever experience this? Anyone ever germinate a seed that was already opened on arrival and had no issues at all?
