The leaves are looking even worse now and getting rust spots all over, worried what I should do. The buds do look noticeably bigger though I do notice

Looks like poor genetics imo, it doesn't have anything to do with the folgers pot you're using or it being an auto! That thing looks like a lowrider from 2010. Mephisto, roc bud and others are putting out quality auto genetics and I suggest you look there first if you continue down the autoflower path. Sorry I couldn't help you because your plant looks ok aside from being a runt. Good luck
 
Well these came from 420 fast buds, they took 3rd place with this strain so I don't think it's genetics. From the very different advice I have gotten (everyone has a different suggestion) from everyone I think it's overwater combined, with poor environment. Where I had it before it dropped down to 51 degrees, before that it was] growing pretty good. Now I have a 4x2x5 grow tent with reflective mylar lining, doubled my exhaust fans and added an air cooler to the system for humidity. If you had seen my previous cardboard grow box setup you would have busted a blood vessel laughing lol.

Not sayin it won’t get some size but is now constrained to that size you used. Once auto senses some rooting issues ( confined) it will move to next phase ( sexing out / preflower ) based on its environment. Nothing you can do to change that.

People saying not to plant in final ( larger ) sizes from germ are wrong ....

I started my second plant in a 3 gallon fabric pot, I think I may have better results, that coffee can barely holds a gallon of dirt :p I'm a newbie to growing so I only started 1 plant and patience is not one of my virtues!

Bro you are good....I'm on my first grow...check my sig...i messed up way worse than you did at first....initially wasted an entire month....But I learned and got it right, as will you. I agree with an earlier comment, I think photo's are actually better for newbies like us because they allow you plenty of time to recover from mistakes before you flower...With Autos anything goes wrong, you're burnt. jmo...GL

I mean...if you have a black out..you'll be ok..it's interrupting dark that's the problem...
if you have a blackout for too long with auto's or photo's your fawked...
I don't agree with your reasoning...although I would imagine photo's herm easier based on light issues....
both will herm if not harvested i believe....

If you're growing indoors all you have to do is switch a photoperiod plant to 12/12 when you want to flower. With an auto if you have a small plant like that which is likely going to start flowering on it's own soon you won't get much yield at harvest time. Had you grown a photoperiod plant you'd have time to let it get much bigger and then flower it when you wanted. It's as simple as a cheap timer.

I just don't understand why so many new growers start off with auto's for a first indoor grow under lights. Auto doesn't mean it's any easier to grow if that's what some people think.

Hope for a rapid growth spurt. I guess it's possible.

if anything autos are for far more advanced growers who truley understand a plants needs at diff times. every little bit of good knowledge and exp has used to obtain good results with an auto. prob is people are lazy. they think growing weed is throwing seeds in some dirt then harvest the top shelf buds. these are the people who do little to no research and somehow think autos are an 'easy way' to grow.

ive been growing for almost 20 years and have never had a timer 'shit itself'. regardless of auto or not if you dont have proper light schedule the plant will stress. its not a magic plant that just does everything for you.

My other grow got light stressed and hermed out, so i decided to try autoflower because I had an issue with light leaks in my grow area, you don't have to take it personally bro, chill.

I researched seed banks and breeders before ordering and settled on Oregon Elite, and ordered the feminized auto flower Stardawg from 420 Fastbuds. I chose this strain because they said it was resilient and hard to stress.

I chose this strain because they said it was resilient and hard to stress. I think my pot was just way too small and I'm going to end up with a small plant. Do you think the drop to 51 in the room one night a couple of weeks ago could have stunted it a bit

Yeah, I chose the strain because they said it was extremely hardy and difficult to stress, but I managed to find a way i think lol!

By the chart here you need to be warmer and humid in veg for it to grow best. I was looking at this realizing how much work I am going to have to do controlling my environment. For led lights I am using the zero degree leaf temp diff.

Yeah that's why I am testing 1 plant at the beginning so i can learn how to control the environment, I have a tent now so it may be easier, we'll see!

dont fall for these marketing ploys. all plants can be stressed. yes some strains are more finicky than others even 2 phenos can exhibit different stressors. so what they should be saying is that its hardier than others. but they use terms like 'resilient' to make their stuff sound better than it is. all that really means is that lets say they actually tested this and put. 'xyz' bugs on the plants. now lets say one strain had less xyz bugs on it than the other strain. now that strain is 'resilient' to xyz bugs. get what im saying? its bs.


lol. some validity i suppose..... but dont beleive what they say. just like 'days to harvest' like it gives you an idea buy you could get a long finish pheno and run weeks past what the company advertises to be finished.
