sometime within the next 18 months i will be moving to canada completed most of the process and passing everything so it looks good, seems canada is desperate for good hairdressers lol
anyway i want to know if its as cold as it seems everywhere or is there sweet spots where its possible to grow outdooors on a larger scale.
got a breeding program in mind and a lot of it is going to have to be done in greenhouses / polytunnels.
basically any canadians around a bit of advice on a grower friendly are with lots of open land and good weathr lots of sun.

I live in Vancouver right now and I assure we have neither lots of sun or open growing area. The police patrol all potential areas with helicopters in the fall and there are plenty of hobby pilots also watching out for grows.
It is also one of the most expensive places in Canada to live. I strongly suggest Vancouver Island as the only alternative on the West Coast.
Trailer Park Boys is a fictional depiction of Canadian life, you cannot openly grow marijuana that recklessly. The sunniest spot in Canada is Alberta & Saskatchewan but it is bitterly cold in the winter plus the laws are more strictly enforced with harsher sentences imposed should you get caught.

The interior of Canada during the Winter can be colder than a witches tittie in a brass bra in February!!! The coastal areas are much warmer ( Vancouver area is nice) and you can grow a crop during the grow season there in the great outdoors. Look at the youtube video of browndirtwarrior, he does a nice grow in the Canadian wilderness. The growing season is very short in most parts of the Country due to the northern lattitude, but the days can become very long (20+ hours of daylight) in the summers. Most people probably grow indoors.

i've lived in all the provinces within canada, presently in Saskatewan, seen and worked on a few fields in BC, chiliwack - hope area's, but the cops watch and fly over bigtime, but the weather there is good for it, unless you get a dry season. alberta and saskatewan are windy'r all year and gets stupid cold in the winter, but lotza sun for those who start them plants indoors then move them out, the laws are the same here as all across canada for growing, so no dif between provinces there, but be fair warned, Alberta drug "lords" (HA) have been killing off new dealers comin there to make cash on there turf.. fair warning... manitoba is almost the same as ab and sk, seems they get more snow in winter, winter just always seems worse there...Ontario has lotza land, most is cold and swampy most of the year (north) and the southern end is a good spot but big time populated, quebec- new brunswick and nova scotia get kinda crappy weather most of the time, summers arn't too bad but lotza rain, winters arn't as cold as west, but more snow and ice then west.

my oppions- bc interier or ontario north for outdoor, indoor everyware else

vancouver island sounds good been looking at some pics and it looks beautiful, as for druglords killin off new dealers. i aint a dealer anyway i will only be growing enough bud for me my main concern is breeding after years of growing big rooms i'm quite happy concentrating on quality when it comes to my weed. with the genetic stock i have for breeding and my experience i think i'll make enough money off the seeds to keep me living nice.
any weed that is over will be donated to medi users / compassionate clubs etc as will cuts etc.
whats the police like in vancouver island am i likely to get hassled much as setting up a breeding program is not cheap so gotta find the right spot

might have to rethink things a bit maybe a barn or large basement for breeding, sounds cold as shit but i gotta get out of this country the law here is getting worse by the day so many people get busted its ridiculous. its put the cost of weed up so much that its taken the dealing away from stoned chilled out dealers who are just selling to pay for there pot and now you get a lot more organised/criminals ex coke dealers etc who have realised they can make just as much money movin large amounts of weed and they will get less time, plus then you got a country flooded by the triads filling houses and getting busted all the time. the game is getting violent you need to worry as much about who your doing buisness with as when the law is going to take your door off.
need a more chilled out place i am registered disabled so am hoping to be in an area i can get a medi licence :)

most places you can get them out by 420 but i always start mine a month 1/2 a head of time and then break them in bye lowing the temp to what it is out site I just finished my crop like only 3 weeks ago get a good indica strain or a autoflower strain breeding should be done indoors easyer to control everything and with so many noobs out there theres a good chance of unwanted geneitics

my plan was to do my breeding semi outside in poly tunnels or large greenhouses so i can control the environment while still using the ground for max root size and to keep things organic plus having the big hps in the sky wich i honestly dont think can be matched indoors lol :)

as for genetics i have saved seeds of a lot of landrace strains and also some hybrids that have been around for a long time and are totally stabilised , even so im not expecting to be releasing seeds on sale for the public for at least five years. im not going to be just putting out any old crap like a lot of these new seedbanks but hopefully now i've decided to make this site home(seems that way as i cant seem to stay off it) i will be able to donate some to the site to use for competitions or give away to medi users etc. also hopefully will get to know a few good growers wherever i move to who are willing to do test grows so i can see how they perform in different mediums.

they're a little softer than the mainland.
I assume you are planning on buying right. I lived there for almost 20 years and recommend the the area between Nanaimo & Campbell River on the East side of the Island. Lot's of small hobby farms around the beautiful twin cities of Courtney/Comox. Venturing a little further out to some of the Gulf Islands might be ideal for your desires. Lasqueti Island is electricity and automobile free if your into the old "Hippy" lifestyle. Salt Spring Island is the biggest and most populated. Texada Island has the very famous strain Texada Timewarp named after it. Most of Canada's breeder's live on the Islands.
