Auto flowers flip so fast

What's the average veg time you guys experience with auto flowers ? I planted a few just to test them out and these thing seem to go into flower mode on their own really quickly. A friend told me they go into flower if the roots face any resistance as in hitting the wall of the pot (I have them in 3 gallon fabric). Could this be why they flower in 4-6 weeks from seed ?

theres ways to maximize veg time. running 24/0 helps.
but theyll pretty much just go when they want to
rootbound plants will go into flower faster but its not because its 'hitting the walls'

These two in the front are autos. In 3gal smart pots.
They were put into the 12/12 tent at 2 weeks old and we’re showing pistils at 3 weeks. I haven’t ran these autos befoe. But other strains I have ran at 18/6 and 20/4 and I always have pre-flowers by week4

Those autos just finished week 7. Day 50 from seed. 62DA13A6-F91C-4EB2-9516-5821844F6E5A.jpeg

Your friend was wrong. They flower based on genetics but I'm sure stresses may impact the timing of the start of flower.

My last group started flower in about 40 days. Harvested at 93 days, 110 days and two harvested at day 128.

Here's the group at day 40.

Here's another I started after these. Started flower in about 50 days. Finished at day 134.

Two autos from last year, started flower about day 54. Vegged under a blurple.

Alright I feel a little better about it now that I see it's early for most autos. Thing that got me is I've had them on 18/6 since day one yet they show pre flower in a matter of weeks. This mephisto mango smile was showing white hairs right after the seedling stage. Maybe topping these like I did is not the best option.
