Noisy bathroom fan help

Noise gets loud 2 seconds after you turn it on... Doesn't sound like its scraping on anything, does anyone have any tips or where to start??
Most likely needs a new fan cage. Most are plastic and be bought on the internet for 20-30$ . The D shaped center of the cage is worn or stripped. Take the cover off and see if you can spin the cage with your finger. Get the model info while you’re in there and amazon will get you one in a couple of days.

Are you trying to make it louder? Try hitting it with a hammer.
I just went through this with my laundry room fan except it wouldn't run because it was so gummed up. I pulled the motor assembly out, disassembled it, cleaned everything, oiled it, replaced it, and it works like new. I was fortunate that the actual motor could be disassembled. Some are sealed up without screws to take them apart.

Good luck.

What kind of oil do you use for this?? I have about 15 sockets, but I don't have the one I need to take it apart in a get one.

The fan blades have a bunch of dust on them.

I used 3-In-One or something basically the same. I can't remember.

Here's a guide that might help.

What is this called, I know its a motor, but what is the white plug called?

I couldn't even get the cover off to get to the fan cage. Might only have access to it from the attic idk... This shit is gonna cost me a few hundred dollars minimum for a fuckingggg fan.

Annie, please answer him before he is forced to do his own research on one of today's many, and instantly available, search engines. Hurry!!!

Tyler, I agree I'm nuts. Blame it on my tinnitus.... However I tried researching and I found the fan motor and blower wheel.. I think now that I have to go up to the attic and take out the old motor and wheel and install the new.

Hurry I'm melting.... I did research, but there is no exact model on youtube. I'd rather not burn down my house... Also I unplugged the heater assembly that had dust on it bc I never use it.

Probably best to consult manufacturers, electricians, hardware store employees, or other such experts instead of our resident stoners. Definitely no recourse for (inadvertent?) errant advice given here by anonymous members. Good luck and /Thread.
