When do plants start to give off an odor?

hey nathenking what is the best strain for a producer.I just got mine

My Afghani are nearly through flowering and they reak! You can smell em outside my apartment door!!! Even with the carbon scrubber. Not long left now so its ok.

I went and bought another Co2 bag by Exhale...had one last year indoors when a sativa plant wouldn't finish flowering outside, so I bring her indoors under some strong LED's to finish. I JUST got my, hopefully, real old school smells like burning tires and skunk arseholes Afghani X Skunk #1 seeds. Just regs cuz apparently they haven't yet feminized any of it. I've smoked stuff called skunk, grown stuff crossed with skunk, but none of it smelt anything like a damn skunk. I want it to smell like roadkill skunk...not citrusy piney orangey cheese...like a skunk. We'll see how these work out.

My four little plants had a noticeable smell around three weeks from sprout. Nothing crazy but you know they’re there.

Six weeks in now and the smell has really ramped up.

Al ot of Indica stinks more in VEg than it does in FLOWER. I 've heard the stink, like a skunk and like cat shit, is like farts from the consuming of NITROGEN. After you start 12/12 and the BLOOM stage, they need and eat les nitrogen and they can stink less.

damn thats some unfortunate news. Is there anything cheap and small i can attach to my exhaust hole besides a fat scrubber? maybe a little DIY carbon filter thats pretty small, cause my cab isnt very big and i need all the room i can get for my mothers

Cabon filter, air freaheners help a bit, hang at door. Car ones preferably smoke eaters

I keep 'dwarfed' mother plants. Once matured, they have a few glands on the main stem and branches. These give off some odour.
I personally find, if you feed them anything that hits the terpenes (like soluble sulphur of potash) in veg, it raises the odour. So avoiding that helps.
Indica's (in permanant veg / mother), in general for me, give off more odour than Sativa's. This is just my personal experience mind.
