It'd take swallowing an incredibly humiliating amount of pride and people don't do that very often, especially older people.

I had a buddy that was once straight up Jonestown hooked into some MLM scam. Tried to get all his family and friends to buy in, so that he could profit, pretty much sold his soul. Eventually it worked itself out, but we've never actually talked about it and I suspect that even if we did today, decades later, he'd still use language that avoids full accountability.

there's a certain type of person who works well for the con- the mark. they search for them. i was listening/watching (it had to do with the Reagans and how much they relied on a psychic to make decisions) to a documentary on con people they almost always have others that work with 'to work the crowd' for snippets of info and in deciding who the mark will be which is then communicated to the person running the con.

that's why i call the Trumps gypsies, because they really are..they work their con just like them.

greed....the greedier the person the easier to con, it's hard to con an honest person. They play off your own greed.

From Oklahoma. We have sheriffs in Canada, but they work for the courts like bailiffs and generally don't enforce the laws, the police, federal (mounties), Provincial (some provinces only) and municipal, do though.

Elected law enforcement, prosecutors and judges are the result of racism and lead to low quality and biased justice. They simply elect those who will suppress black people and give white people privilege, it's the same for election officials. States are unfit to hold such powers, including the management of elections and have proved it repeatedly. It allows the law to be used as a bludgeon against minorities and it has been and continues to be so. Now half the country are enacting Jim Crow voter suppression laws and changing who manages elections in order to cling to power.

There are a few structural issues with American governance and these are some of them, racists started abusing their state's prerogatives in order to make civil war on minorities. Now that civil war has spread to include democrats and a majority of the country, the methods and motives remain the same.
