Can someone identify this creature?

Ive been noticing small holes appear over the last few days and after much reasearch and many hours sitting and watching i found this t beetle looking critter, i removed him and squashed his head. Today i find more holes and spot another exactly the same, can anyone tell me what this is and how i treat them please, my best guess is some kind of weevil? I have no idea how they got there and cant find any info on the matter so assume its not a common problem? Any ideas people???

I would agree based on the shape of the insect that it appears to be a weevil.

as it’s eating leaf you could use Neem oil or another product that works from ingestion.

other than that you would need to look to your local area entomology and what’s common as far as insects are concerned.

Im in uk and have never seen anything so small this was probably 1mm long

I’m in the U.K. too and you wouldn’t believe the differences in species just in different county areas.

go down to home bargains and see if they sell any VINE WEEVIL killer products.

Sounds like a cheap fix, do u know if weevils are know for attacking bud or would it just be random, i cant find much about it?

Weevil damage is hurrendous. They destroy leaves.

but I’ve never dealt with them sorry.

I’m just a bit of an armchair entomologist lol.

Hard to say for sure. Depends how long they’ve been there unnoticed.
A female can lay up to 400 eggs in her lifecycle.
 
What I will say @Kief84 is that I’ve given you a starting point to investigate.

have a look around on the web and see what else you can find?

Confirm that what I’ve found matches your own insect etc then look at what specifically they target, lifecycle, how to prevent them, how to eradicate them etc.

more often than not there will be some nematodes you can buy to defeat them.
