I have an idea Im going to try out (unless you guys yell at me) I want to start some seeds under a HLG 100 4k, veg them out a bit, then clone them and put the mothers to flower under my GLS 300's. Im not sure what distance I need to keep the light for the early stages of growth, specifically in the dome, to avoid killing my plants? Im going to be using growdan starter plugs in a dome with a heating pad, RO water, jacks clone nute mix, and a dash of love. They will be going into 4x4x4 rockwool and wattered via ebb and flow.

Thank you for your time. - TB

Start it high, and slowly lower it, or let the plants grow into it. And if it starts stretching you can lower it. Seedlings don't need much light. But if they start to stretch lower the light, but try to do it slowly.

I have 3 HLG 100's in 3000k.

I appreciate the input! What would be a good starting point? FWIW My tent is about 6'8 tall, the first couple feet will be occupied with ebb and flow infrastructure.

For seedlings I'd start with the light high and watch the plants. I'd rather start the lights too high than too low. Sometimes it's nice to have a little extra stem at the bottom too. Or you can always transplant it deeper if you want. These LEDs are powerful, so don't underestimate them.

And your 4000k are better for veg than my 3000's.

4x4x6'8 tent. I dont have the exact numbers off the top of my head, But I believe the tray is somewhere under 2x4, and legally I can only do 6 plants, so Ill probably only use 1.5x3ft? Im tired, so please excuse me if my numbers make no fucking sense

EDIT: I am only using 1 HLG atm
You might want to get more light for veg when they get out of the seedlings stage if you can afford it.
