Are clones wilting for the first day normal?

I am one of those growers who believes that a clone is a fully mature plant without roots, so they don't need to be babied, ie; placed in domes, have their leaves cut, etc, etc! Just cut'em, and then put them in whatever medium that they will be grown in and place them in your grow room. And for the first (7) days make sure that the container that you put them in is OVERLY SATURATED. For example, if you are going to grow the clone in soil, fill a solo cup with soil, run (1) cup of TAP water through the solo cup, then stick the clone in it, then everyday, for the first (7) days, run 1/2 cup of TAP water through the solo cup. Then after (7) days, give her 1/4 cup of water every 4th day... and in 40+ years of growing I haven't ever lost a clone doing it that way! In other words, keep it simple!!!
I run 2 strains and 1 of them are very tough to root, especially lately. I don't get roots sometimes until after 2 weeks.

A few pics for your reference. At planting and 24 hours later. Many methods. 100% here. Just remember you are now feeding through the leaves as you have no roots.
And I immediately place cuttings in a cup of cold distilled water only until I can get in the medium. Will keep cuttings hydrated for a few days as previously stated. 023.jpg024.jpg025.jpg002.jpg

I clone in a dome outdoors but I thought I would chime in because I've had a lot of success lately. I used to clone aeroponics-style, and had a decent hit rate, usually only 1 or 2 failures in a set of 8 to 14 cuts, but it ran slowly.

I currently clone directly to rockwool that's been soaked in pH 5.5 water. I leave the cubes raised on a tray in a dome, with the vents closed to begin with and then I crack them open slightly after a few days. I check them once a day and mist them at the time. Of the cuts I've taken since then, all of the first 16 visibly rooted in 12-15 days, and they absolutely explode when transplanted.

A Garlic Budder clone I cut a little under 4 weeks ago that I'm transplanting to a 2-gallon bag:

I love all methods that work. Would suggest a bit more fluff in starter mix. Coco or perlite.

I grow roots and indulge in root porn before plant porn. Sick critter I know. LMAO. 14 days at 68-70F tap water only.

Nice job. 009.jpg
