Led Light Help!

The light came with a power supply strapped to the back and it runs pretty damn hot. Does anyone else run these and are they safe?

It says a Samsung 60w aka 600w for marketing lol

I have a Mars hydro and you can remove which I have had to do because too much heat in tent but that heat sink plate doesn't look great mate think that might get pretty hot for your led's what make is that ?

Am I allowed to link Alibaba ? I'm actually using this for a fish tank not a grow room.

Its just called 600w grow light with Samsung

Thought I was from alibaba you really need either the driver of the light completely or at the very least a gap between the driver and the sink plate think your led's are going to be having to put up with temps up 50 which will reduce their shelf life not sure about safety wise just check regularly for signs of heat
 
i’ve seen those lights and my first thought was fuck they would get very hot without a heatsink.
now there are 3 routes imho. either attach 2-3 12v fans to the back or get a proper heatsink and attach that to the plate with thermal grease or the 3rd route is to change the driver and drive it way softer at 15watts or so if that would work for you.
otherwise i’m pretty sure some of those diodes will burn out in the near future

I'll take a look and see if I can lower the lighting, I just wanna grow some fish tank plants so I'm not in need of a power hour just a cheap led. Too cheap I guess lol but I never bought a light off there so I figured why not.

Should be a dimmer somewhere quite often it's on the bottom of the driver you can normally turn the voltage down with a screwdriver you don't need all that power for them if you can turn down to 50% think that would solve most of the heat problems

bro if it works it works and cheap lights work well even with demanding plants like cannabis and for a small aquarium i would really think 15-20 watts would suffice because i’m keeping bonsai mothers in a 2x2 under 30 watts of leds designed for cabinet lighting. diffused soft shit with low par.
but again you can just tweak it a bit and attach a proper heatsink and attach the driver on top of it and that would make it run much cooler. just a minor upgrade to make it last longer.

Thank you for the help! I'm gonna go check to see if it has that. Much appreciation I don't want any accidents happening even if it's just burning stuff out.

I'll look up how to do that, I'm new to diy stuff with lighting but I am capable.

I unscrewed the driver, (the box thing right?) and there was no dimmer :( so I believe my only option is to find some fans or a heatsink.

its a solid aluminum case, I have another led light that was much more expensive 320w in my grow tent with that rubber stopper but there is not one part of it to get into. I even sent the ali express vendor a message to see if there was any way to dim the light but no response. I have never seen a light so basic before, its just a flat piece of metal with leds on it with box on the back lol.
