First time grow

I am growing gdp in happy frog soil using fox farm trio as the main nutrients and am using the spider farm 1000 light and 2 by 3 grow tent. Recently posted because I was having a problems with my plant and was pretty sure I had it narrowed down to a ph problem with my soil. I had done a flush and have done a few feedings and watering since then also started using cal mag which I didn’t have before. This is what my plants look like now it’s starting to get cramped in my tent with my 7 gal containers and the big humidifier I need because I’m in such a dry place (it’s a new humidifier last one was smaller which gave me more space but couldn’t hold humidity higher than 30% on its own. In this post I’m posting new pics I’m just wondering how my plants look after all the adjustments they are looking a little dark to me so I’m not sure if they are getting too much nitrogen in a couple pics they look really light but it’s just the light in my grow tent the pictures where the plants look darker are more accurate. I also notice a lot of leaf curling both up and down I’m not sure if it’s from the heat as we’ve been experiencing extremely high temps and I’ve been doing my best to keep the tent cool I don’t think the temps have went above maybe 88 degrees Fahrenheit, or if it’s from my fans or humidifier or what. Just trying to get these things ready for flower and I’m not sure if I’m anywhere close at this point

[/QUOTE awesome! so you think I should be good to send them into flower soon? I’m thinking I’m gonna let them get a little taller because everything I’ve read says gdp is a pretty slow grower and doesn’t actually double in size during flower but I’m definitely going to do it soon because they are approaching the the halfway mark in tent height. Glad it seems like I got the problems worked out and their looking healthier I think I’m just being a worry wart because I’ve seen once you go into flower mistakes aren’t as easy to fix

Tall is not better, you want them wider unless youre outdoors. The bottom of the plant wont get light and youll get shitty larf. Id flip em or keep training them. GDP is an indica so it should roughly 1.5x in height.

Oh ok that make sense, they’re pretty well train when I take them out to water them they look a lot more even and tabletop like but when I put them back in the tent theyre cramped by that humidifier so it makes the branches look more uneven and is definitely making it harder for them to grow any further outwards. For future grows I’m probably going to switch to 5 gal containers or maybe even 3 if I have to now that I know I’m gonna need such a large humidifier to keep the humidity up for my tent

Do you think I need to do another flush before switching them since I’ve done one so recently? Also I’ve read you should do the majority of your pruning within the first couple weeks of flower any tips for a newbie cus honestly that stresses me out so much because everything I’ve read or watched in videos has said if you do to much pruning or do it the wrong way you can ruin your plant. Sorry for all the questions

Get that hygrometer off the floor. I find it hard to believe that those two plants in that cramped space can't raise your humidity...I live in single digit humidity and my 3 plants in 5gal containers push my 3x3 to over 70%
Hang it around canopy level.
Do you have a fan up top circulating air? What is your extraction setup?

I feel you on the space. I wanna try vertical growing as that shits tight, but for this grow Im doing a clone run where Im cutting 50 (maybe more if I can) clones from 3 mothers and putting them in solo cups and flipping them to flower right away. All flower/No larf(tm) haha

Also, what are your watering practices? It looks like it is being overwatered, have you changed anything recently?

Why do you think you are having pH issues?

Omg I haven’t even heard of that before I defined haven’t read up much on cloning or anything like that yet because I’m just not there yet lol wanna get a few successful grows under my belt before I attempt anything with cloning. But it does seem to be the way to go if you wanna speed things up and you know what your doing which I definitely don’t yet

Depends on your nutes and soil. I run organics so I dont even have to water to runoff. Tip: Week 2-3 of the stretch, remove 1 maybe 2 bottom shitty looking colas a day over the course of week. Too much and youll stress it, but it will cause your buds to swell. Another tip: At your discretion, switch the light from 12/12 to 10/14 at week 3/4 to speed up flower. It tricks the plant into thinking winter is coming. It might cost potency tho. Remember, thats your call.

Well first I thought I was having different nutrient deficiencies but when I got nute burn when trying to fix that I wasn’t sure what was wrong. Then I read that if your soil ph is too high it can cause your plant not to retain those nutrients so it can appear as if you have nutrient deficiencies. So I used the soil probe I have and the highest it goes for ph is a little over 8 and that’s what my soil was reading. Tested runoff and it was reading much higher than what I had phd the water too so I figured that kind of confirmed my suspicions. I could definitely be totally wrong tho I am still very new to this. Watering has changed as someone on her told me I should be doing a gallon of runoff every other feeding which is much more than I was usually doing.

yea I thought I was using organic fertilizer but then I found out that I guess fox farm trio is not fully organic I have purchased the general hydroponics fertilizer for my next grow because I read that it is organic so hopefully that will not be a problem in the future. And thank you for that tip I definitely have noticed a few bottom colas that don’t look like their gonna amount to anything that I’ve been considering cutting off for some time now that I will remove. As for the for the last tip I will probably go with potency as it’s my first grow and I’m not confident yet on my ability to grow potent bud so I don’t want to sacrifice any more potency that my mistakes haven’t already cost me. Will definitely take into consideration for the future tho.

Let them get dryer. You only need to have 10-15% runoff when you feed. You're not giving full doses, so you aren't having any ridiculous salt build up especially since you have been flushing alot. Your leaf stems appear to be sticking straight but your leaves are dropping....that is a symptom of overwatering. Calibrate pH meter and pH down your feed to 6.5 and only water when they are just about to start drooping at the stems.

Clean up the bottom that won't get much light, and flip 3 days later, you need to do this asap because that tent is seriously going to be over crowded, I'm growing that strain right now and that is definitely going to double in size maybe abit more if it stretches for light...

I’m going with Dank. I think they’re over watered. I bought one of those cheap moisture meters off eBay, and I stick it in the dirt to measure the moisture. I bet if you had one, you’d find they are wetter than you think. And just as a reference, I also have a GDP going, and I haven’t found the stretch to be near as much as I thought. Here are pics of the day I flipped to 12/12, and exactly 2 weeks later.

I do have a few small fans circulating air I have an in-line fan with a carbon filter as well for the extraction but running it even on the lowest setting was keeping my humidity at 30% so I turned it off and opened the bottom events around the tent that combined with me opening the tent a few times a day to check humidity and temp in such a small space I figured would be enough. Doing that I got my humidity to go up to about 40 with the smaller humidifier then I bought the bigger one and I am able to reach 50-60% but I’d never thought about lifting the hydrometer my thoughts were to keep it near the plants I realize now that’s dumb as I’m measuring the humidity in the whole tent not just near the plants I just don’t know why that never occurred to me will lift it up and see if it has any different readings if so may be able to switch to the old humidifier for more space
