First time growing. Interested if anyone can tell me what’s going on here

This is my first time growing anything. My buddy gave me a 4 clones of some triangle canyon from jungle boys that he grew from seed. Along the way of him growing his plant he kept telling me about these mosaic patterns the leaves almost like a tie dye pattern. I saw it myself and thought it was pretty neat not knowing what it was. I still don’t know what it is that’s why I’m here. I’ve been having some learning curves as I am growing in coco and anyone I can base anything off has all grown in soil. Some fans have 5 some 6 some 7. Some hook 90 degrees at the tips some grow 4 normal and 2 skinny fingers. Overall I just feel like it looks like a mutant. I’m also pretty sure I’m feeding to much but I’m following floraflex generative style feeding schedules. Not sure if floraflex would put out info that was inaccurate but then I read posts that say to use half the recommended nutrients as to what the manufacture says. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I had those leaves randomly appearing here and there in early veg, but they seem to grew out of it. Any special reason why he kept this plant? It sounds for genetics but little bit more messed up. I would be more concerned about those leaves in late flower inside your nugs, but since those are cuts I suppose somebody already grown them succesfully…

You could have a Mosaic Virus

Do a Google search on cannabis with tobacco mosaic virus

He is actually a pretty novice grower and convinced me to join in the festivities. I cared for his plants when he went away and he hooked me up with my first cuts. He hasn’t even flowered that mother out yet so no guarantees on her being a success I understand that. Guess I’ll have to let them do their thing they have been growing pretty vigorously other then the bizarre patterns and leaf shapes.

I am aware of tmv and not sure if they are reliable or not but I purchased tmv test kits from agdia and 2 tests came back negative for tmv on the mother. She was the first to show signs so before I put them into a new tent I wanted to be sure.

I believe it is a mosaic virus. I'm not sure a test for the Tobacco Mosaic would turn it in Cannabis. My guess is it has mutated. That is what viruses do. I didn't see any specific hemp or hop testing in your lab's list:

This lab actually checks for Hemp and Hop viroids and viruses.

Most importantly I'm not sure testing is necessary. I haven't found any of my plants that showed a mosaic pattern and leaf changes were negatively effected by whatever caused it. So that being said unless you want to try with a second laboratory I'd just flower her out. I doubt that will cause you any issues.
Best of luck on this

Thank you for your insight and encouragement. a second lab is unnecessary, I will continue growing them out and will report back along the way. Let’s see how this goes.
