New York (CNN Business)Clorox was one of the bigger beneficiaries of the Covid economy, as people rushed out to buy bleach, wipes and other disinfecting supplies. The company couldn't keep wipes on store shelves.
But now that nearly 155 million Americans are fully vaccinated and resuming normal activities, consumers aren't practicing the whole cleanliness is next to godliness routine as much.
Clorox (CLX) said in April that its quarterly sales were flat compared to a year ago and adjusted earnings fell nearly 15%. Revenue and profit for the company's next fiscal year, which begins Thursday, are expected to be flat as well.
In other words, people aren't obsessively wiping everything down now that Covid-19 cases are falling. Clorox's market value has taken a hit as a result.
Shares are down more than 10% this year, making Clorox one of the worst performers in the S&P 500. The stock has fallen about 25% from its pandemic peak price last summer. Sales and earnings are expected to be flat in 2022.
Is there anything Clorox can do to reignite growth? The company is trying to focus more on products for businesses as people head back to the office and go out to restaurants and movies again.
But it's not going to get better for Clorox any time soon. The company has been warning investors to not expect growth to return to the levels of the spring and summer of 2020, when concerns about Covid-19 infections were peaking.

In an interview with WPRI 12, 25-year-old Chase Allen claimed that he was simply at the Capitol building on January 6th to document what was happening and that he wasn't there as a supporter of former President Donald Trump.
WPRI 25 reporter Shiina LoSciuto, however, informed him that "there are photos of you, reportedly, kind of stomping on camera equipment" that are being used as evidence that he destroyed property.

A New Hampshire elementary school coordinator trashed his bosses this week in a viral resignation letter, accusing them of endorsing “dehumanization and hatred of white people” in critical race theory training for staff.
“I won’t be pathologized for being White. I won’t be pathologized for being normal. Neither should you,” wrote Daniel Concannon in a June 28 tweet containing his resignation letter. The post has received 1,600 retweets and 4,000 likes.
Concannon, 40, worked in the after-school program at Northwest Elementary School, located in Manchester. The city is a middle-class Democrat stronghold with a population of 77% white.
In his letter that signed off with a "F*** you" flourish, Concannon said one of the CRT sponsors had his office “decorated with celebratory charts of the declining percentage of white people in the United States and Europe.” Concannon sarcastically questioned the validity of critical race theory and listed dozens of nonsensical pronouns — such as fae, virself, what, whatever, xemself, each other, everything, and something — below his signature.
Manchester School District Superintendent John Goldhardt responded with a statement to employees that Concannon also posted on his Twitter.
“The resignation came in the form of an extremely inappropriate letter,” Goldhardt wrote. “The complaint derived from a training session for staff designed to foster critical thinking about race … this district values all members of our community regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.”
Despite this, Concannon said the support he has received from school employees and complete strangers on Twitter has been overwhelming and heartening.

Unfortunately the past impacts the present and a lot of Americans want to live in the past and not move forward into the future. It is racism in the present that is the issue and it has roots in the past that need to be addressed. This is apparent by the regional support the the republicans have that is centered on the southeast and many mid west states populated by post civil war immigrants from the south. When almost 3/4 of white American males support Trump, then you could say they are racists to a pathological degree, in that they fuck themselves and country over bullshit.
Don't get me wrong, white people are no better or worse than any other ethnic group and historically there has been bigotry and prejudice among all peoples. A hundred years ago there was hostility between Catholics and Protestants, much less Jews or Blacks. In the 19th century, to be an Irish Catholic was to be a second class citizen in many places, the Italians took their place a few generations later, etc.
Teaching the truth about the past warts and all is not a bad thing, we teach about the second world war and the fact the Nazi's were pricks, because they were pricks. The same applies to the civil war and slavery in America, both systems were fascist and placed one kind of human over another, exploited people and trampled their rights and dignity. Even in the early 19th century most people thought slave owners were assholes and it was either unpopular or illegal in many places. America was a shotgun wedding between southern slave owners and many in the north who abhorred the practice, the compromises to protect the institution were built into the original constitution.
