So, i just ordered th PPP (Purple power plant) from Nirvana, i got 5 fem. seeds, not too bad on price, and no extra $ for shipping!!!

So the point of this is that the 5 PPP will be started after they arrive, but they will take 10 days or so to get here!

In the meantime i want to get as much advice or tips on this plant as possible.

So if you have grown or are growing this plants, please post pics and tips on how to make these babies blow up nice.

Then i will use this in my journal for them when they start!!!

Thanks guys!!!! Start uploading so i can see what i'll have soon!!!!

Thanks man, I plan on doing soil grow, but keeping a mother to possibly do hydro with in the future.
I still haven't got the concept down on working a hydro grow.:weed:

So how did you guys Germ. these seeds, would the moist paper towel method work?
Any other ways of doing it?
I ordered the germination kit from Nirvana when I ordered the seeds. It comes with about 2g of bacto for the 10 pucks. PH'd warm water, added a few scrapes of bacto, and a few drops of SuperThrive to the mix. I soaked the plugs with the mix. I put the seeds directly into the starter plugs after scuffing them on an emery board. I put them in a container, misted with the mix, covered the container in cellophane and set the whole thing on a heating pad on low. Kept them in the dark, and I had sprouts on one seed within 24 hours. 100% germination.

I will buy a propigation mat for my next germination, as I think the heat pad was a bit too warm even on low.

I always thought the heat pad would bee too hot, unless hooked up to a thermostat of some sort. But hey that's one way of doing it!!!

Anybody else have another methods for germination that give a 100% germ rate?

2 paper towels
2 very small saucer plates (like 4" or less in diameter)

Get the towels very damp.....fold them up a bunch of times so they can fit between the 2 saucers placed together.......place the seeds within the paper towels in between the flaps........put this whole thing on top of a small electrical device (no water leaks/drips) such as a cable box or small TV or monitor - as long as your plates are the same you shouldn't have to worry about light...but I put it in a dark place anyway. Wait 24-48 hrs.......you have successfully germinated your seeds.

You're never going to have a consistent 100% success rate germinating seeds. Even if you do everything perfectly, some seeds are just no good and won't sprout. But, if you buy fresh, quality seeds from a reputable dealer you should have about a 90% success rate if you do it properly. I use the paper-towel method. As soon as the seeds pop open and i've got about a 1/2cm of tap-root poking out, they get planted. I've been using this method for years and have consistently germ'd at a 90%+ success rate. Also, don't worry too much about getting a heat mat. If your room temp is about 70° you should be fine.

I also use the paper towel method, but i heard about putting warm water in a cup and dropping the seeds in, then in about 1-2 days there is taps showing. Anybody ever heard of this, or have any more to put to it?

Way back when I first started growing, this was the way I germinated my seeds. Just drop them into a glass a of water and and wait til they pop and grow out the tap-root. Some people still do this, sometimes just soaking them like that overnight before moving them to paper towels. Personally, I think that the normal paper towel method is superior to this "glass of water" method, but that's just me :-D

I think the paper towel works good enough myself, i'll stick with that for the germ....
