When do I start flushing?

What I would suggest is this, think of the question you want answers to, then type it in the RIU search engine and read threads that come up bro. RIU has been here a long time and these questions have been asked many many times. Most of time, previous threads will and can answer your questions.

I've seen 3 new flushing threads already today so far.

Yes :-) love it...

I tried to help but the usual absolute shite link was posted and is now the basis of don't flush its a waste of time.
When you’ve grown hydro you realise that in the last few weeks the nutrient requirements keep reducing.

we had this discussion in my thread lol.

it’s one of the reasons we both reduce our feeds during the last few weeks.

manifested by higher EC runoff when in hydro mediums.

personally I like to finish on my starting EC approx 0.6EC when I max out around 1.2EC.

this to me gives a little fade to the plant by the time it’s done without going to the extreme that you see from flushing and flushing and flushing.

However though I do this not to remove anything from the plant but to keep inline with its nutritional needs.

When a plant uptakes nutrients it does so in ionic form.

once they are uptaken as ions they cannot be removed regardless of how much water you use to try to do it.

@jondamon lol yes I lower my ec to the plants requirements the ec needs naturally drops in the last few weeks, I keep feeding it what it wants (0.6 atm) up to I deem it ready then finish it with 3/4 days of water.

I've not got the luxury of lab tests so going on logic my best guess is to let the plant use whatever reserves :-)

To each their own lol.

personally I’ve never had harsh weed or “tasting nutrients” like the old broscience claims used to make lol.

I have three plants and three varieties. They’re all about the same size and are just starting to bud. Out here in CAli June 1 is the outdoor start date. A friend suggested I use watered down molasses for the bloom stage. I’m switching to Fox Farms
Buds and Blooms along with Big Bloom.

TIA for any suggestions.
I use whole grow, just dont overdo or will go anearobic. But that only happens if you go reallyheavy, flushing in living soil is a joke. I use dtw and salt fert and dont get build up. No runoff to speak of either, Use fresh water every few waterings if worried about build up.
